I have a Luna's Howl and its one of my favorite handcannons. But is your topic one in favor of NF/LH's change or against the way it works now?

Kind of both. It is much more fightable than it was and I like that because I always saw it everywhere just being a menace, but there's not really an efficient reason for me to use a Lightweight Frame hand cannon over it right now if I liked seeing it in my inventory in the first place. It is still very easy to use on console over many hand cannons and it is still in a lot of places if there's not an elemental special in someone's hand. Certain special weapons are the reason you don't see it that much and after the changes I bet if auto rifles don't take over, it will rise again. I understand the concerns about it being left behind or nerfed while it was a huge pinnacle grind, but I don't think it should've existed in the first place. When Service Revolver was the hand cannon back in the day and the gameplay showcase for Luna's Howl was released publicly, I instantly knew it was going to be a problem. I saw it as the 'D2 Last Word before the D2 Last Word.' Hand cannon metas really get on my nerves.

If all goes well auto rifles will help ease the handcannon usage

Maybe. Hand cannons will still have their advantages, particularly around cover, but auto rifles will definitely be running around more.

I was a bit unsure my self where his side was on the fence myself when I read it. I think Luna's and NF are fine. No damage bonus beyond its critical cap, no stat boost. If any thing I think NF should have a very minor buff of being effective to 31 or 32 meters before drop off. Its very off putting that my 74 range NF has the same range before damage drop as every other HC with at least 55 to the range stat.

At this point I see a Range stat and know it doesn't mean anything. Its all about Stability and Handling. Thats why LH/NF are still competitive.
-
There are a bunch of other variables that go into the range stat.
-
Yes but grinding for a roll with perks that boost Range doesn't really help. Its been proven that Stability determines a weapons accuracy now. Range may have some small part of stickiness but it isn't as benefical as it once was.

Yep, its surprising how many people are unaware of the universal range cap. I mean logically any person would correlate that if a weapon in a game has a greater range stat is would have greater range. But... HCs dont work that way... Now its just about getting that Spare Rations with rapid hit.
