It's ok for a few matches but after that, I feel like it's only for the d-bag type players that want to snipe or GG people as they spawn or shoot unsuspecting players. A few of my friends like it at first but eventually, that died. Personally I always wondered if they created gambit to make PVP look better.
So how many matches have you played?

Im not entirely sure how many I've played across all 3 characters but alot Im sure. Im a relatively new player but have dredgen and am probably halfway to Reckoner. While Gambit from a distance appears to be nothing but jerks with snipers that isnt the be all end all. Sentry exists. Snipers exist. Exotics and mods to allow radar down sight and enhanced radar and extended radar range all exist. Futhermore the invader spawns in an absolutely predictable area every time. He will always be at 25, 50, 75, 100 and then on a timer at your primevil summon. So you know when they can invade. You know where on the map the will spawn every time. You have radar and the ability to mark them. And unless they are invis they are totally a giant fiery red blob. Yes they get overshield. Yes they invade with super and most annoying weapons in game. Cough truth cough Johtun. But sniper or rocket or whatever will still work fine since you know where they spawn. The busted part is the heavy ammo. But its manageable. With a good team and everybody having gear and actually playing their role gambit prime is a much more balanced well oiled machine than players give bungie credit.
