Truth be told, all armor you get should be added as an "ornament".
This system is, pratically, what we had on Diablo 3 with transmogs, only that Bungie decided to throw the "EV seal of approval" on it. There's literally no reason why we shouldn't have all armor as ornaments.

I agree but if mods destroy the ui then I feel all the armor would make it unbearable. But to not give us the ornaments we earned is just crazy. I would call it predatory, lazy and malicious but I rather Bungie tell me why than assume the worst of them

I do believe that the issue with mods and lag on the UI is more of a programming issue. From Forsaken to the Season fo the Drifter, we had mods but it didn't lag the UI one bit. mind you that, at the time, mods were items, so the game had to track how many of a mod you had which, in theory, would be more demanding than what we have now.

I personally feel that adding the eververse to the menu is what screwed everything up. Bungie will never admit it and hide it if it was true

Maybe, I can't point if it was since after the Season fo the Drifter, I stopped playing and only came back about 3 weeks or so. And, sincerelly, I don't remember if when I stopped the store was already on the navigator.
