They make the rules. We have to follow them. Break them and they penalize you.
They've had this no tolerance policy since Day 1 of D1. It won't change anytime soon.
The process for BANS and RESTRICTIONS involve reports coming in from players or their flag system towards an individual. The person at Bungie HQ reviews it. And they decide if it was warranted or not.
Intentionally or not your account broke the rules.
Ignorance doesn't exempt you from them.
Your account is done.
If you pray hard enough maybe just maybe the person that runs the BNGSecurity account will care enough to give you an extremely vague reason as to why a punishment was issued. The chances of that happening are slim to none.

[EDIT] Recently they have added a form to appeal a BAN or RESTRICTION. (SUSPENSIONS are not included.)

That's it then? Even if I didn't do anything wrong I will be permanently banned for no reason? Bungie should review their policies, this is UNFAIR to players whom play the game correcly and don't cheat in game. I boght the DLC's, I lost money in this game. I will not lose my account because the THINK I did something. I do not use other softwares while playing D2 besides Discord. I have rights and Bungie HAVE to review this ban. This is just UNFAIR.

Nothing. Maybe just my internet that sucks. But I was doing campaing, I was not on PvP.
