The original deluxe edition (as stated on all packaging at that time) was for base game, dlc1(osiris), dlc2(warmind), and a few extra in-game goodies (emblem, sword, and emote). Nowhere was it ever mentioned that it would include any future dlcs/expansions/etc (forsaken, Shadowkeep, annual/season passes, etc). Your purchase wasn’t a waste of money, as you got what was advertised at that time & could play from then up until now.

I get it. The advantage was earlier access to the first two DLC's. But at the time of the purchase, there was no information that these DLS's could become free. It is sad. Thanks for the answer. I will never buy at Bungie anything more expensive than the simple version.

Well...the deluxe edition did have the extra in-game items that the free version and/or basic version didn’t get. And yes, noone knew at the time that it would go free after 2 years. But lets be real, most of that “free” stuff is completely outdated & irrelevant at the moment.

The fact is that I almost completely dont know the content. I went through the campaign, reached 200 power points, then I didn’t understand anything and abandoned the game so far. For this reason, I can’t evaluate the relevance of items in the DLC. I understand what you are talking about. I agree. In my understanding, "Deluxe" and "Early Access" are not synonyms. This is the same as buying a golden Ferrari for a double price. And after 2 years, this gold color will be standard for the same price. "You paid x2 the price for the opportunity to ride with gold color for 2 years. Now it is not relevant. Have a nice ride." What happened is a huge gift for the community as a whole, but an offensive set of circumstances for me.

Deluxe =\= early access. Not sure why you are making that comparison. Deluxe just means you got more than the standard (just like a collectors edition will have more items than deluxe & contain limited run items).

I bought what will later become free. What exactly is luxurious? xD The difference at this point is: 1. irrelevant items 2. visual enhancements In my opinion, deluxe cannot become free. But maybe I'm wrong. It's not that I was expecting to get even more. I did not expect others to pay less, but would receive the same (if you count only DLC's).

I still don’t get your point. If I buy a tv today, that same tv will be cheaper in a few months or a year (and there will be better tvs for same price I paid). Price depreciation is a real thing. You/I/Others paid for the game/dlcs/etc to play them at a certain point in time. Others who waited will get that older product for a reduced price.

Title. Luxury should not be outdated. But ok, I have luxury visual enhancements. Luxury is diamonds, gold, the work of Picasso. Not an old tv. But now I have an old TV. Functional. All the functionality of the game is available to me minus all the functionality of the game is available to my friend = 0. But here where there really is a difference is time. Full functionality was available to me immediately after the releases. This is what I called "early access."
