So im in the middle of a comp match and i get error code weasel and get booted back to the start menu. i try to log in and i get NOT SO FAST! This account had been banned! Why is my account banned? My internet hasnt been great lately so iv had a few disconnects but its not like im cheating or hacking! Hell iv been on a massive losing streak, i dropped from mythic 3 all the way down to fabled 3.... https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/steam/4611686018487600612/overview Iv already submitted a help ticket and my friends have said that its been happening to alot of ppl because of DDOS'n? Can a bungie employee help me here?
Intentionally or not your account broke the rules. Ignorance doesn't exempt you from them. Your account is done. If you pray hard enough maybe just maybe the person that runs the BNGSecurity account will care enough to give you an extremely vague reason as to why a punishment was issued. The chances of that happening are slim to none. Here's some examples of the other 300+ people who "did nothing wrong" that the BNGSecurity account replied to. https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/BungieActivity/254/21102603/BNGSecurity [EDIT] Recently they have added a form to appeal a BAN or RESTRICTION. (SUSPENSIONS are not included.) https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 But know that the chances of it actually getting reversed are miniscule. As quoted by the BNGSECURITY account.
The banning system has not changed. We ARE deploying some new detection tech. But the appeal form is mostly about allowing us to cut off new cheats early while still giving the community confidence that our systems are reliable. The likelihood of an unban is low. "My brother did it, not me" is still not a valid appeal. The case where an appeal would result in an unban would be something like "This is an in-game exploit, here's the specific steps to reproduce it".
They are absolutely under no obligation to explain what rules you broke. If you don't know, then you probably never will. The reasons most ppl have a punishment issued to them is: For some form of cheating (ddossing, afk farming, win trading). (95% of the time will result in a Ban) Playing with cheaters (paying for a carry, sharing account info, or staying in a lobby with a cheater for too long and benefiting from their illegal actions). (Bans or Restrictions can be caused by this) Or having consistently terrible internet connection that it affects OTHERS players and not just yourself. You may be playing fine. But to others you may appear as an unkillable red-bar. (This 95% of the time cause Restrictions) For most PC tagalongs: They are banned because SOMETHING installed on your PC (ACTIVE cheats for D2 or other games can trigger this) was viewed as a POTENTIAL threat to D2 and those are PROMPTLY BANNED. The process for BANS and RESTRICTIONS involve reports coming in from players or their flag system towards an individual. The person at Bungie HQ reviews it. And they decide if it was warranted or not.
