Lost Path 2: Life Lumbers On
I have had some changes occur. Notably a different Durendal and some power armor. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/657330644027965461/665729881753124898/unknown.png https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/657330644027965461/665634434078474251/unknown.png The power armor has a Jetpack I couldn’t add to the pics.
I am running. I need to go faster, but I’m going as fast as I can. I jump over a felled log; he will need me, I have to get back. Finally, I see a break in the trees up ahead as I duck under a low branch. I run out of the forest to be confronted by a giant ravine in front of me. I think to myself as I look to each side, “This is the ravine from before, but where was I before?" I look directly across the ravine; Scintillate kicks the railing of the ravine, making Titan fall back. I jerk up in my bed and yell, “TITAN!!” I look around and gain my surroundings; I’m in my room. I see the light turn on in the neighbor’s window. I must have woken them up. In the morning, I go to the location of the mafia gang’s hideout that I was sent to arrest the day before. “You’re late,” Scintillate retorts. I ignore his remark and look at the hideout ahead. “They are in there, ready to crack some skulls?" "We are here to bring them in peacefully," I correct him, hoping he doesn’t sense my resentment dredged up by my dream. "Has that ever happened?" Scintillate asserts as we set forward. When we reach the door, I knock, the sound of my power armor hitting the door making a harsh clank noise. "This is the Sheriff's De—,” I am cut of by bullets flying through the door at me and my ally. I punch the door, breaking the lock and opening it so we can enter. As I walk through, there are almost three times a many members than I expected shooting at me with Tommy guns; they must have known we were coming. I see the room light up from one of Scintillate’s lights and everyone in the room who looks at is getting blinded. Scintillate runs out from behind me as the light fades to charge some gangsters on the left who didn’t get blinded as I calmly walk to the blinded on the right and start handcuffing them. After a short while the gangsters are all restrained and I say, “That was easy.” “Thought so did you?" a voice interjects from the catwalk above. I turn and look to see the gang’s boss standing with guards on each side. “They were ordered to go down easy to distract you! We packed up our trucks in the back and we are leaving. Oh, don’t forget this bomb! Hah hah!” He drops a time bomb off the catwalk onto the ground in front of me and Scintillate. Durendal flies to my hand through the open door as I walk up to the bomb and cut all the wires simultaneously with Durendal. The boss watches this happen and responds, “oh shoo—,“ then is pushed off the catwalk by Scintillate so I can cuff him. “Good work, Scinny,” I call out. “Don’t call me that,” Scintillate groans as he jumps down, taking the bodyguards down with him. Suddenly, I see a blade swing to my face, which I narrowly block with Durendal. The body guards Scintillate took grab him and struggle to hold him down as the mafia leader confronts me with his blade. I end the parry and spin to swing my sword back at him which he blocks and then tries to circle down to slice my leg. I take Durendal down to have both blades touch the ground, followed by a swing of my left fist at his head. He ducks down and tries to swing his blade upwards; I step to the side and try to swing at both of his legs. He jumps over my swing and follows by a swing for my head. I duck down and lose balance falling back so my left arm is needed to prop me up. I swing Durendal at his head, trying to reach as far as possible. He bends back to avoid the blade which didn’t reach far enough to hit him anyways, but a light blast comes from the sword and flies into one of the catwalk’s supports. The support gets cut and and causes it to collapse onto the bodyguards restraining Scintillate, freeing him. “The heck was that?" I ask as Scintillate uses his mace to hit the mafia boss in the head, knocking him out. “Let’s not worry about it now,” Scintillate suggests with an outstretched arm for me to hand him some handcuffs. “Y-ya-ya, after we arrest this gang.” We finish cuffing the rest of the gang and wait for a prisoner transport to arrive to take them away.
