iirc, the bullet magnetism is tied to making the game more... 'family friendly,' by lowering the skill cap to a degree. I agree with you on nerfing this stat, it's foolish as it is. Emphatically so on the PC, aiming with a mouse is so much more fluid and easy - adding the head-seeking bullets is just gravy on top. If there was fine tuning for the PC, it needs a revisit.

 • Meh. Does it create problems in PvP? A little yeah, but in PvE id rather not see something that makes the game feel nicer to play taken away for the sake of PvP. Yet another thing ruined because of it. Could I learn to aim better? Absolutely. But I’ve had carpal tunnel twice. I’d like to be able to play the game without getting it again, due to having to play with more precision and more hand movements. Aim Assist keeps the game accessible to everyone, not just kids.

 • After playing consoles then moving to PC , found I had to "aim more" Gone was the taken for granted snap-to effect. There's a step up in pace on PC too. Also, Hardware matters. If someone is struggling at <60fps or even a 60 and other players are at 144hz/FPS this can make a difference. Overall, I found Console play quite forgiving.

 • If I’m being entirely honest, I hated the snap effect. Absolutely despise it. Is it helpful in PvP on console? Sure it does make PvP easier, but god almighty, it’s the WORST in PvE. Trying to do boss damage? Better hope an ad doesn’t get in your crosshairs because now you have to place yourself again. Had a final headshot lined up on that knight that’s bugging you? Think again, a thrall ran past your line of fire and now your missing it AND the knight you were trying to kill, and now the blueberry in your strike swiped it right from under your nose.

 • Perhaps its because I've been away from console for a few years, and almost entirely play PC for fps, that I find D2's aiming mechanics pretty forgiving. The only thing I play on console these days is Smash with a few friends. When I played on console, I felt the controls somewhat sluggish and clunky. Might just be a personal playstyle and preference issue.
