Can we confirm what actually progresses Flashpoint: Mercury challenge? (12/16/19)
Stuck at 97% and have been thinking/trying about other "Activities" that can accomplish this to no avail. The challenge just says "Activities" but seem to only progress via the single rare Public Event.
After the new season, has anyone had any success at progressing this via a different way?
Patrols, adventures, lost sector, strikes, and even the new activity (that is on Mercury?) all do not seem to progress this.

Patrols and Lost Sectors advance flashpoints by 5% each. The Sundial does not progress your flashpoint. Like DC said, you might want to clear your cache.
