This game already super caters to the top 1% in pve and pvp. Let’s get something for the top 20% and then maybe. I could care less about a leader board or anyone on it. I just want cool armor ornaments and a weapon to chase.

Make the weapons and ornaments obtainable by anyone willing to put the time in. Give the top 1% an exclusive emblem and title

Well it's a loot based game and a competitive ladder. I'm sure good players would play with or without loot. It would just be cool to give them an emblem or something
