I got stuck at 3900 for a while before I hit legend. I just found that I had to disengage after my teammates died and regroup with them closer to spawn. Taking on two or three opposing players isn’t in my skill set. I’ll usually check out my teammates and the opposing teams load-outs to see what they’re running. If my teammates run snipers, I’ll equip a shotty. If the other team is full of snipers I know I can slow play a bit and try to out snipe them. If they run multiple shotties, I know they will likely rush. Keeping the other team from acquiring heavy ammo is key, obviously. It’s almost a guaranteed kill for whichever team picks it up. When your team is up lives, play elusive and stay back. Not feeding kills while up can win matches. Always give it a round or two to get in sync with teammates and the opposition alike. Learning tendencies is helpful. If you find your team is down a round or two, stick with a teammate closely. Teamshots always win versus a single guardian. If the other team pops super, just run. If you’re confident you and a teammate can team shot, have at it. Otherwise it can just provide the opposition with orbs for quicker supers if you die. Saving up your super for a later round can be great if your team is up. Never solo super when your team is out of lives and your opposition has 3 players on the go with lives in reserve. Sometimes you can get lucky, but you aren’t creating orbs for teammates. Learning lanes on maps is good. Angles on heavy and other high traffic areas can be covered nicely with a sniper. Always use weapons that you’re comfortable with. Masterworked weapons can spawn orbs on double kills, also good. Good luck to all of those still grinding legend ! You have just over a week to get there ! If I can do it, so can you.

  • Thanks for all the recommendations. I try to play by most of what has been said here, if not all. My worst thing is getting shot from behind after a teammate, which I thought was behind me, disappears. That and people who tend to cross-map shotgun while jumping a mile in the air. Would you have any recommendations for those two issues? Should I always try to stay behind teammates, or hold angles behind them?

Obviously radar awareness is huge. It’s tough when you’re ADS and in a gunfight though. Your teammates unfortunately can’t always get your back. You have to hope they can hold their own. I try to pick angles where I’m confident that I won’t get flanked, a lot of perimeter play that can give me quick outs if I’m getting rushed by one or more enemies at a time. It certainly doesn’t always work though. As far as in-air opponents go, just being as aware as possible of their play style. If I play against a team with guys that fly around, I try to stay close to cover and in halls and areas that limit their vertical abilities. It’s tough though. All in all, it boils down to skill and luck. The more you play, the better you’ll get. It took me a while to adjust. Im still adjusting to some styles. Try not to get too stressed and take both wins and losses with a grain of salt. Always learn from the good and the bad as well. There are lessons that can be learned from all decisions made. What to do and what not to do next time a situation arises. I hope I can help, even if only a little. Good luck ! Edit: I forgot to mention slug shotgun users tend to be tough for me to battle. I try to backpedal as much as possible to get out of range. Sometimes I’ll backpedal around a corner and slide back towards them if they’re aggressive and I’ve gotten a few kills doing that. If they’re in the air you can slide under them and get behind them too. I’m still working on getting quicker to use that tactic though. My aim with a shotty isn’t great. It can be difficult to tell just by the radar who is closing in on you. Keeping an eye on the kill feed to see who is getting shot by what sometimes helps.
