At this point, I think Bungie's just trying to milk this game dry so they can dump the Destiny IP and focus on being a mobile game developer. That's where the money's at.

This makes some sense - however misguided it is. They're doing a lot of damage to their brand now as opposed to just selling the license, banking the money and quickly moving on. There might have been some sense of expectation for many more fans for a new project direction than now.
