I am going to assume you are seriously asking as you do not understand. Many folks consider the game to be heading in a bad direction with the main goal of the game to simply be monetization. Granted, some are fine with the direction but those that wish to drive change will shun the monetization to show their displeasure. The reasoning for this is to them it makes no sense to throw money after a product that is poorly performing. So, by 'boycotting' the undesired aspect it becomes a useless feature to the creator and shows that the consumer base is unhappy with the new direction. It is then up to the creator to cease and desist or continue down a path that is detrimental to the product. Hope this helps!
