While I wholeheartedly agree Bungie done goofed here, if you even thought for a second the Vault of Glass would have anything to do with the Final Assault, you were setting yourself up for disappointment. I personally was hoping they would do something interesting with the plates. Like say the boss just stays up at the front at first. You take down the immunity shield the first time, and the boss would teleport to one of the plates. But instead of just shooting his shield down the same way, you would have players stand in the other 2 plates to summon oracles. Shoot those oracles to take down the shield. A minor, but notable change in the encounter to keep it interesting.

Except anyone at all familiar with the lore knows that VoG has nothing to do with the Black Garden. The Vex in the Black Garden are the Vex equivalent of Satan worshippers.
-
That still would of been lame as hell....
-
At least it would've been better than what we got.
-
I agree that’s a bit much to wish for, but this was such a massive letdown. I mean anything would’ve been better than literally the same encounter and same boss mechanics with just a different boss.
-
Yea. I was hoping another vex offensive like activity with a super strong mini raid like boss kinda (Undying Mind ofc). At leas the fact that ikora and Zavala solos it a few dozen times makes sense now.
-
So basically... ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT IT IS!
-
Yea basically. I was st least hoping for the Undying Mind Theme to come back

Even a -blam!-ing starburst for a reward. And I hate starburst.

Edited by Pilcrow: 11/19/2019 10:04:20 PMI thought we would go somewhere else cause for the past few weeks. Or since the season started. A portal was being built in the tower. All of that was for nothing. We already had access to the location of the final assault. Nothing new about it other than a boss swap and some semi harder enemies. Not much though. I thought the vault of glass would be a cool place to go, to bring back the raid. Plus in that raid, we faced one of these undying minds before. So I was thinking we'd be there, fighting a tougher battle than the first time or something more cool/unique would happen.
-
We never faced one of these undying minds in the VoG....
-
The one in the vault of glass was a lot harder also.
-
You mean the Templar?
-
whats the boss at the 2nd encounter? Its a big floating vex with a shield circling it. Same thing.
-
the second encounter is oracles, have you even been in the VoG? 🤔

Edited by SpartanLegend_27: 11/19/2019 10:07:20 PMGranted, this would have been cool as shit. But to expect that from Bungie nowadays is, for some reason, unrealistic. I wasn't expecting any more than a slight mechanics change in the final boss area, and even then, I was let down. I was kinda hoping also, that we could go back to where we first fought the undying mind in its D1 strike.
