We're actively collecting feedback to give to the team, and I'd love to get a roundup of not only reaction, but general feedback of what you desired for the Final Assault activity leading up to it. What would have made the Final Assault more interesting or engaging to you as a player?

  • here lies bungie, a once respected dev team responsible for halo, but since then has fallen so far from grace that the fallen in game turnover in there graves. after the split from activizion we all thought that THIS WAS IT! this was supposed to be the big turnaround , a inspiration for other devs to split from publishers and do it alone and create great games again! but what we failed to realize was the only thing that bugie learned was how to over monetize and disrespect players for more profit, and increase the bottom line. this here is a direct example that you should NOT play this game. this is coming from a hardcore player from day 1 d1. they have no care in the matter of making a great game. they want a decent game with great profit. may they rest in peace.

  • Well I've got to say that the Lore around the Vex Final Assault is amazing. Really love how that came together. Though as far as execution on an activity, it couldn't have failed harder. Here are some thoughts, from the top of head. This late in the season why not make the final piece of paid content to be a challenge light wise. You've given us a great pinnancle gear system (now that it is +2) but only one reason to actually chase after it. That's my reaction and feedback on how it was delivered. As for how it could be more engaging, the portal should have changed in the tower. Why are there npc's still working on it? The activity should start from right there. Ikora delivers a great speech, then you have guess as to where this Vex Final Assualt is. The last place I checked was on the moon, I thought surely they wouldn't make me go and launch it from the moon. The position on the node didn't change, I looked in the director and thought, nope, nothing new here. IMO the Vex final assault should not have had a spot on the road map for being such flagrant miss use of asset recycling. Now, if you've planned something that happens when all the undying minds have been killed, I'll give you props for that. Ikora needs a counter... only 2,323,234,999 time lines left! go get em.

  • How about something that actually takes even a small amount of effort? Maybe instead of asking us you folks over their could put a little passion than a simple boss swap into your work. I want to laugh but honestly Bungies lack of passion for this game and their desire to make a memorable experience is pathetic. We could have gone into the portal and fought the undying mind, we could have got new loot for this half of the event, we could have had a whole new experience instead of doing the same exact content we did for a whole month leading up to this. Such a pathetic waste of time and resources.

  • @dmg04, Here's my thoughts. I'm going to try to keep Shadowkeep content and SotU content separate, and not talk about Shadowkeep at all. So let's look at SotU. We've had weeks of buildup to this culmination, and there is no point to it. The Undying Mind was a terror in D1, and is little more than an exercise in firing mechanics in D2. I would have had the Undying Mind fight take place in a different location (we built a gate, we could go where/when we needed to). The only thing different about the actual fight is the Kamikaze Harpies, and they aren't really much of an issue when you're 200+ above the recommended level for the activity (I would have boosted the power level on Final Assault to 920, at least). We've waited weeks for this, only to basically do what we've been doing all season for nothing more than an Emblem and a Triumph. Not one singular piece of armor, not one new weapon (what a great time to bring Imago Loop to D2 this could have been, just as an example), no Ghost shell with some cool perk (extra glimmer for killing vex, even, would have been *something*, at least). Just...an emblem. The really bad thing is, this kind of sends a message about what to expect from following seasons, and has likely turned some people away from spending the money for that content. This is, in my opinion, probably the biggest missed opportunity since Bungie declined to let the Infinite Forest be a patrol area (Ikora says we're the custodians of the forest now, but we can only go there during strikes or adventures, or two special events - sorry, getting off track). While the biggest draw to Destiny is the game itself, if there's nothing new, then even Destiny's unusually high replayability factor diminishes. I don't think anyone was expecting a full armor set or an entire suite of weapons to grind for; but honestly - answer me this: After I do this three times for my Triumph/Seal, what's my incentive to go back in and ever do it again? Even just one weapon or unique class item would have justified grinding over and over to get the multiple configurations or god roll that a player wants.

  • Loot. It's literally as simple as that. You have enough assets to still reuse and I think a lot of us find it really hard to believe that taking a few more Y1 weapons and giving them random rolls and slight appearance tweaks for an event falls into the category of "making content is hard". Something as simple as adding Imago Loop for a drop in the final assault would have gone such a long way and doesn't seem like something that should be out of scope. Why not reskin the rest of the weapons from the Osiris forges as final assault drops? Everyone misses Perfect Paradox. How does that not register as a great final reward to end a season? I honestly find it extremely hard to believe that your artists and developers don't already think of and know these things, but someone there who actually calls the shots holds this game back. What developer honestly thinks, "hm, they've been working all season fighting in this mode waiting for the final assault, I bet they would love a simple boss switch out with no new rewards"? Sorry, I don't buy that comes from the actual people who work on this game. That is someone in management who is clearly out of touch.

  • This is horrible content. There is nothing that has changed. All we got was a different model. Wow! You build a portal that does nothing in the Watch Tower. You have a quest from Ichora that does not give you anything upgradable. You have failed your game. I thought the final assault would be the portal within the Watch Tower. I thought there would be different things you have to do to defeat the Old Mind. You know what this is. This is what I call a bait and switch. I fell for the bait, and then you just switched it. I guess I am the fool in this case.

  • Anything as a reward for completing it... but not taking away the rewards we already had in place for the event . By the way where did the rewards go anyways? was that a glitch or something. I mean... a lot of folks are saying you couldve brought back the old strike, changed the mechanics etc... but I think a simple reward would've sufficed. Something taken from old assets wouldve been fine, such as imago loop or simply a piece of masterworked armor or even an ascendant shard. Surely you guys didn't think folks would be happy to do this activity again after weeks of farming it, and not get a reward besides the same old reskinned shrub you guys called a gun. lmao... im embarrassed for you guys. I had so much hope that you had planned something special with the portal being built but nothing? wow Bungo

  • I honestly thought, this being the (wait for it...) "pinnacle" event of the season, that we would get a Pinnacle level reward/drop, and that the level of challenge to get that would be appropriate.

  • Maybe something other than a god damn reskin on the same event that was paid for with the Shadowkeep. I mean if this is what you’re going to do with the rest of the season pass events don’t expect a lot of people to be getting the next one.

  • It would have been really neat if you brought back the D1 loot (Imago Loop) as an incentive. It could have been a static roll or a random roll, but make it only available during the final assault, then later in the year it could be added as strike (non specific) loot.

  • The final assualt like so many seasons Ms acfivitys in D2 was such. Huge let down all that hype. All the build up to what? A boaring chnage up to the boss fight? The final battle should have been a completely diffrent activity. We should have gone through the regular activity, then we should have crossed over into the portal. And it should have kicked off. Huge multi team battle. With other guardians in a completely diffrent arena and or are. We should have gotten something epic z that culminated with unique armor and or weapons .emblems ect. And some story cut scenes. Destiny 2 has been all hype since lunch. Clans... =let Down =faction railys =Huge let down ,seasons =Biggest let down off all. Every step you guys take for word armor.20 forsaken the deaming city ect is followed bye 3 steps back. The vex so much recycled and reused content reskinned weapons hyped like there new . Activitys listed like there something new when there the same content with a diffrent end boss. Why? Why not just make the activity into a grandiose spectacle it should be it's the last big activity of the season. You would think that would mean something . We should have gotten almost a dungion sized activity. At least a few new bosses to fight in a few new areas. I would have preferred to have stepped though the big vex portal at the end. And just came into this huge battle with us and a ridiculous amount of vex and other fire teams. The vex offensive should have been a big team battle sized hord mode. With a uniqe set of great and weapons to earn . The game needs more surprises. It always seems like bungie is afraid to go big. Maybe you could have hidden some exotic sparrows and ghost and ships that dropped as well from the battle. I would have liked a new activity not the same activity with the Sam's weak enimeys and a diffrent boss at the end. A new area of the garden should have opened up or we should have teleported some where . With a diffrent look for all new encounters. Not just one new encounter at the end of the game. So much build up for such a small fizzle .

  • Yeah like they love reskinning stuff why not just put the Undying mind strike into the game. They have had no problem recycling old weapons I guess it would make sense to recycle D1 content as well cause you know making content is difficult.

  • Lol right? That's pretty much all this crap was they should have just added that strike back and done something truly inspiring with this. They wasted all that content with ikora building tbr portal in the tower, that still looks super unfinished hard and that we never even got to go through for what? To add a different boss at the end of a old activity? This is why people hat the dreaming city well activity. If that area transformed every few waves or they added 5 or 10 more waves. And or levels of difficulties and bosses. And the area changed every time , from like a desert, to a ice filled to a fire pit. And the mechanics changed people would love that sh!@# They have these ideas and then it's like they half way fallow them through. They should have made this vex mode feel more story driven, there should be a full weapon pool, one or each kind of weapon type we have in game half for the beginning actively half for the offensive. And added a few cut scenes. And maybe the after you beat the boss you go through the portable and it switches to a dungion Style thing. Whole different look and and new encounters. Something memorable. It's hard coming up with content psh... not hard if it's hard they should be working some where else. I could sit down with 5 or my friends and hammer out simple to extravagant content for this game all day. It might be hard for them to implemented to much new stuff because of the size of the game or other restrictions like that. But seems to me there putting anuff crap content in that they could substatue it with good. I think bungie is just being lazy and trying to squeeze all the money they can out of the content they got. Even if they know old weapons and other things might not have been super popular at the time. Since they have new players with cross save they think they can slap new paint job on and the new kids will eat it up. And honestly they might be right. But tour core fans wont. They want quality content, bungie keeps saying there gonna focus on quality over quantity but we are not getting either. They need to come meet us in the middle . Decent amount of content and quality story telling. If your gonna introduce new weapons. Give us the whole suit of new weapons, RL,SR,MG,BOws,SMG,Ar,Tr,HG, not just a few . they could have introduced a few new vex frames for this big final battle given us a peak into the future. Something memorable. But no more of the Same. They could have brought back a surprise weapon bam exotic Gage bringer drops from beating one of the new bosses

  • So what was the point of the portal behind Ikora if we dont use that? The venue should have changed. Either the portal behind Ikora should have opened for us to load into or at the end of Vex Offensive you kill the Minotaur and the portal opens into the D1 Undying Mind final encounter. And I dont think it should have been on the road map.

  • We, at a minimum, should have beat the “normal” vex offensive boss and then jumped through the portal to a new arena to face the final encounter. I personally would have created something that could become a strike for next season, but there a tons of things you could have done. This... swapping a boss at the end of an encounter and calling it “done” is a let down and honestly you should be disappointed with yourselves. It’s like you got interns to finish off the project so your more experienced team could move on to bigger and better things. The only positive I have is that I’m going to be moving apartments in a few days and thought I was going to miss out for several weeks. Now that I’ve done the 3 completions triumph I see there is nothing to miss.
