Vex Offensive: Final Scam
So what the actual -blam!-...?
Weeks of build up for "roadmap content". The Final Assault: Undying Mind. Sounds pretty -blam!-ing cool doesn't it? Well I got a -blam!-ing surprise for you. They REMOVED the old Vex Offensive, Added "Final Assault" to the name, made the mobs just a little bit harder, re-modeled the boss and thats it. Go have fun, heres your final roadmap content for this season. Same -blam!-ing tactics as old vex offensive, excatly same objectives. It's like they didnt even try. Oh.. your getting tired of Vex Offensive? Let's slap some new paint on those mobs and release it again. Yeah that should do the trick. -blam!- you Bungie, where do I refund my shadowkeep?
Edit: I would be fine with it would it be free content, but to actually charge money for this garbage is so unreal it baffles me.

Agreed. How tf they gonna be hyping up this thing and Ikora building this huge teleport in the tower only to have us just start the vex offensive from the menu like normal? I was like wait, wtf? The portal still isn’t open for us to go into yet? We’re not gonna get to jump in that thing and go kill the undying mind!? Wtf! And to make matters worse, she even TELLS you herself that it works because she and Zavala apparently already tested it and killed the undying mind at least “two dozen” timelines!?? So now for reeeeeal wtf!?

1 ReplyHas anyone else noticed that if you get killed by a harpy missile during the boss fight it says "killed by Pagouri: Beloved by Calus / Harpy Seeker". Also the shield around the boss is the same shield for the minotaur, its not the right size for the hydra. Copy-paste for the win!

Such a missed opportunity. Should of started in the tower at Ikora’s gate. You know how you like recycling content? Imagine the communities excitement if a six man team warped through that gate and found themselves in a revamped vault of glass. The forums would have been buzzing today. We know you haven’t got the man power anymore but we do expect the talent.

This was a disaster. Gotta remember we paid for this. This wasn't some free seasonal event. It was the culmination of the Season of the Undying which we had to pay into on top of Shadowkeep. We could have had the original strike modified from D1 and that would have been miles better. It's extremely concerning going forward if this is the standard of content we're going to get with these seasons. Although I did like the animation / sound of the Undying Mind coming in.

15 RepliesBungee are really taking the p1ss at the moment to be honest. Genuinley dissapointed with this event. Here's the thing, Destiny 2 is [i]potentially [/i]a great game, but all these dissapointments like this just keep piling on top of another to the point where if affects my motivation to play the game. Did my 3 undying mind kills (which was a total yawnfest) and logged off. Probably won't be back on for the rest of the week cos....why? Bungee are slowly killing this fanchise.

1 ReplyLet's not forget that presumably this was one of those "You had to be there" moments Luke Smith mentioned as being part of the logic of events going away at the end of each season. Not sure too many of us will be recalling fondly to noobs in 6 months time about the final assault or the Vex Offenisve as a whole.

1 ReplyArmchair expert here. What i would've done is: 1. Make the event harder, higher power level and extra modifiers. 2. Add an objective to reach the undying mind in the first place (maybe shoot semi-hidden oracles between each minotaur boss damage phase idk). 3. After killing the 1st boss, the portal can be entered to reach the undying mind area (I expected this from the Ikora portal). 4. Make the fight with the mind actually hard. It's the final assault for a reason. 5. Have it drop a weapon or gear! Perfect time for a new exotic imo (add it to xur's inventory later, so nobody misses out). 6. Done. Like i said, armchair expert. I know it isn't this easy, but come on.. all this build up for just a boss swap?

Tbh the final assault was my final straw of belief for this game. I'll just take my money elsewhere than this broken mess of lies and cash grabs.

I can't decide which is worse: the fact the we don't access it through the new portal we've witnessed being built but have to go via the previous Moon location; or all that's different is a new boss with a YELLOW shield and less health... It must have taken less than 5 minutes to develop the FINAL Assault from the existing Vex Offensive. Change Boss Type from Gate-Lord to Hydra. Set shield color to Yellow. DONE!
