So far so good, my only concern is Bungie algorithms think that matching me up with guys from over the pond is a good idea. I'm getting two tapped on initial gunfights and my opponents are taking little to no damage. This is not good when my connection is green.

No: 60% Perfectly salted, as all thinks should be.

until Bungie splurges on dedicated servers I'll always be suspect of many things I see in Crucible. There's just too many instances that don't make sense. And we all know there are plenty cheaters in Crucible. Also the P2P/Hybrid system they have for D2 is bad as the P2P setup they had for D1. It truly hinders the experience. Overall Destiny is one of very few games I've, at least, at times, enjoyed playing PVP. I can probably count on one hand, two tops the games I've played that were PVP. While it can still be enjoyable at times it seems far too often it's not. Couple that with cheaters, suspect things happening, Erentil, etc it can make for an awful experience; one of the worst ever.

Been playing a month pretty much PvP only other than farming exotics. I have no idea about the lore so the main story did nothing for me. The PvP is fun but the spawn areas make no sense. Supers are either meh or half minute long bulldozer types. Got killed by the same super after respawning many times now which is annoying. Some supers are fine like single shot AoE's and the gunslinger 6 shot one, others can circle the map. Some grenades do DoT in a zone sized area for 4-8 seconds while others go fsssssst with 25% shield damage if you manage to get someone to swallow it. Top tree titan gets 2 uses of the best non-buffed grenades in game, one hit melee that can chain and a superdupa super. Got the one eyed mask the other day......how is this even legal? So now my titan with "hard light" can see round corners and do double damage with bullet ricochet with no falloff, so much fun, hardly balanced though. Hand cannons with sniper range, smgs with shotgun range. Shotguns with random range and hit boxes that seem to change each time you fire. Sidearms are okay imo. Pulse rifles and auto rifles are a good mix. Trace rifles are good with.. you know ammo. Snipers have range falloff on these maps? Got the recluse solo which took about 4 hours, thought it would take longer with all the comments about it. Not sure what all the fuss is about, it is more effective than most but the riskrunner and huckleberry outperform it imo. Be nice to see a capture the flag mode like in UT. Other than certain balancing issues mostly with classes and certain exotics I think the PvP is pretty good. Never played a PvP mode without balance issues however.

Thing that bothers me the most is simply connection.. so games are manageable, others there are people just transwarping everywhere and all of sudden your dead out of no where.. Seems like the latest updates is causing more and more connection issues in general! Not just pvp.. the amount of weasel and beaver errors I’ve been having past half year is ridiculous compared to all the time before that.

I did vote no, but I don't think it's in a horrible spot. A lot of weapons feel pretty viable right now. Recluse just needs a rework. OEM could use a little work as well. Also, allow players to choose multiple game types to queue into.

Base crucible isn’t bad, relatively speaking. I haven’t enjoyed crucible as much since they put snipers, shotguns, and fusion rifles in the energy slot. But in general it’s okay. IB though is insufferable. Either your team or the other team seems to always steamroll and when you’re trying to do bounties it is frustrating. The variety of games though is better. I like the current setup of playlists.
-
It’s pretty good now I think. My biggest issue is with fusion rifles dominating hand cannon range. They are a bit cheesy to use, just need slightly more projectile spread at the max range(like shotguns have pellet rng) just so that ohk at max range isn’t a 100% thing. Otherwise, matchmaking, while better, still needs some improvement. I honestly don’t have any problems with recluse, oem probably needs to be toned down, but it’s not something I notice. I also hardly ever see the mountaintop in crucible. And roaming supers are still too strong, last for too long. All minor things though honestly.
-
I think there’s too much special ammo available in matches. Too many one shot weapons. Fusions have a bit too much range. Autos need a buff. Other than that, it’s not too bad at the moment.

I’m one of the few that enjoyed D2 y1 crucible. A lot more primary gunfights. I preferred the cat and mouse type play and using grenades are tee up kills or using them defensively. Currently I think the one shot kill guns and abilities spoils the PvP engagement. Just feels cheesy getting kills or being killed from things like shotguns, fusions, GL, shoulder melee and supernover.

I prefer cruicible at the moment as it feels more like d1. Plus, with scouts finally getting a little love, I'm feeling the benefits of my loadout (for once).
I've been a scout, shotty ape since house of wolves so don't give me no meta nonsense ;)
Special and heavy need a massive reduction

Crucible is great besides needing trials back

There are things I like and things I don't like about it. I enjoyed playing crucible a lot more before sniper rifles were so abundant however the new scoring system in the survival playlist seems to be a lot better. Lag is still an issue but that won't be resolved without dedicated servers. Still some terrible maps. Still some balancing issues that need to be sorted, in survival anyway.

Edited by michael: 11/6/2019 5:27:14 AMKinda. It’s more balanced now than it has been in a while. My 3 main gripes are -I wish special was 2 per brick not 3 -OEM needs a nerf -Arc battery needs a nerf/shouldn’t be in crucible -Mountaintop recluse combo -recluse And in terms of lesser concerns, -I wish bottom dawnblade had something done to it (although I think it is slated to be nerfed soon anyway?) -Handheld supernova kinda -The perk on bottom arcstrider where dodging gives you super strong resistance -Thunder coil -Fusions are a hit and miss, I can’t decide if I find them OP or not All things considered that is a pretty short list. I am confident playing and can enjoy any class which I haven’t been able to do in a long time and I don’t find it hard to play around with different loadouts and builds .

I haven’t touched PVP in like all of Destiny 2 because I don’t do things that make me want to cry

is ok

Edited by Balderdash1112: 11/6/2019 6:53:33 AMI think parts of it have improved, like having a solo comp playlist, more organized playlists n general, a much better iron banner quest, new fun mode, don’t have to fight over heavy anymore. However, I still think that heavy spawns too much, it should spawn 2-3 times a game. Also just more maps, bigger maps. So many of the maps r so small, and cater to shotgun apes, bigger maps would be much appreciated stuff like fragment. And dedicated servers would be most welcome
-
The Crucible went through so many changes, and I just don’t care anymore. I just get the things that I want, and I’m done.
-
I'll be honest and my honest opinion is that people should try dodging and taking cover rather than complain about me bashing their heads into the floor. A guy charging at me and sliding isnt going to kill me if I back up and gun him down. A sniper wont see me if I go around to remove him from play. Those randy users, recluse, etc. Maybe if they pay attention and not rely on those ridiculous guns do much they'd win. But now? I feel weak. Nerfed. As a Titan and a Warlock as well as a Hunter. I like my guns. I love my abilities and supers. Not so much anymore.
-
Overall, yes. I have my gripes with it sometimes, such as special ammo economy, and the effective ranges of primaries, but overall, it's pretty good.
-
Special ammo is too rampant, what few primary weapons that do get used are exceptions to the rules their type of weapons usually go by, or are extremely forgiving at a basic level. I’d go into detail or submit non-ambiguous commentary about it, but Crucible is a lost cause in terms of balance and overall player attitude towards what they should strive for. People don’t want to be good, they want to be given things, to come as close as possible to cheating without actually cheating, if they can. That’s the “competitive” mindset this game fosters. Rather than urging a player to improve, it pushes them to conform. Too many things wrong in too many places, in a way that the foundation this games PvP is based on is torn asunder by its own pervasive problems. The problems with Crucible are what make it what it is.
-
The Crucible has gone through so many changes. I just roll with what’s available and what works for me.
-
Shrugs...
-
I'm happy about it. I don't seem to experience most of the problems I'm seeing people address on the forums though. No connection issues, no cheaters, minimal lag, pretty even Survival matches... I went from despising Crucible but tolerating it long enough to get my Weekly bounties in previous seasons to preferring it over my beloved CoD. That's got to say something for Bungie.

Let's be clear, this poll would favor the "no" option at pretty much any point in Destiny history. I'm not making excuses for the current meta at all though but still.
