Destiny 2 the game that claims to be free to play but then charges you $35USD for a DLC, Then has an annual pass/battle pass like a free to play game as well as over priced microtransactions. Shouldn't be charging people for these DLCs if the game is free to play Bungie. The "free to play" players are technically just playing a DEMO at this point.

They need to make money somehow. If they don’t make money then we don’t get a game.

  • What happens if you don't pay for the DLC or the season pass?

  • You get access to crucible and patrol basically. You can't do Forsakan or Shadowkeep campaigns or raids without buying them. Also certain exotic quests seem to be hidden behind the season pass but not all of them. Like free players I believe can get the heavy bow but not the heavy machine gun exotic this season.

Well, maybe you dont understand the "free to play" thing. Everytime i see "free to play" on the net i KNOW that it is possibly only a demo version of it, or they try to lure you into a payed something. You can't tell me that you did not understand that. Everybody knows that. Free to play, in this time, very often means: if you want the full experience: you have to pay. But ok, they should change it to: "Free to try." Although "free to play" technically isn't a lie.

  •
claims to be free to play but then charges you $35USD for a DLC
that has existed for a long time now. Guild War 2 does it and it works really well (they also have cosmetics store). There's nothing greedy about that. It's done and still being done by many companies, Bungie included. You still get base game for free and 2 small starting dlc.
Then has an annual pass/battle pass like a free to play game
Is also done by many online games. Smite, Dauntless being an example. You still get free stuff out of it. You earn in-game silver dust currency to get some stuff out of the cosmetics store practically for free. Because someone else paid real money to get whatever u buy for dust. We always bought dlc's for destiny. In destiny 1 and in destiny 2. Paying for a dlc is NOT new. Where are you getting this "everything for free" idea from? You aren't the only one but so many of you are complaining about free game. Where did you hear that the whole game is free? Show me where you got that from. Don't say "it says free-to-play so must be free-to-play". League of Legends is free to play, Fortnite is free to play, whatever else you guys are playing is free to play but you still make in-game purchases. There is still a pass. In mmo's you still buy dlc. Star wars old republic mmo also needs you to buy dlc. I don't know what else to say, really

  • It's incredibly greedy when you look at the ratio of bright dust in/out. It's incredibly greedy when; with Activision, if you played you got everything in the store... a tact, that I'm sure Activision didn't care for.... It kind of made it harder to be profitable, but Hey, after bungie drove Activision off look... No bright engrams of any sort. No prismatic matrix, a sliding scale making BDust to Silver impossible to calculate. What is a good deal when they're all bad? The game price, dlc, seasons' pass? Not enough! Fifteen dollars a skin? Not enough! FOMO MF'ers? Not enough! Your definition and bungies' defining of 'greed' needs recalibrating.

  • These trolls have to find something to whine about, even if it’s about the smallest things like cosmetics.
