You dont need any specific forge but in order to complete one you need to go all the way to the warden at the end and beat him in the time aloted otherwise it dont count as an ignition. And if you dont complete it before the weekly reset on Tuesdays it returns the log to your inventory and have to start again

Thanks for the reply. Definitely completing the whole forge and still seeing the disappearing frame. Is there any component of chance do you basically get one shot per frame and have to start over if it doesnt drop? The disappearing happens immediately on completion of the forge.

I'm not sure then , with the drop of new light alot of things have changed. In my own experience I had to complete 2 forges for one weapon sometimes and always went back to ada to get another ballistics log. But depending on why your doing the black armory (for the weapons or triumphs) i actually got better weapons from open world drops and exotics. I did find that for bergusia and gofannon the risk runner exotic SMG is outstanding to use and a great asset to have. But it all comes down to your playstyle and if your doing PVE or PvP as to what you want.
