Yes. That is the current intended power growth through Pinnacles at this time. The last 10 is intended to take time. Once you hit 950, Pinnacle rewards are the only way to increase further. You'll need a full set of 951 gear in order for the Pinnacle drop to be 952, etc.

Evey single quest that gives pinnacle or power gear is not working. They all show as lower then my light level. I can not collect them because the ONLY reason to do the quest or collect them is that they count as power gear. Take breakneck from last season for example, I did not collect it because I was already at max light level. Now every single quest that gives power gear is showing as lower then my light level [talking about the base armor level average before any bonuses]. So I can not do or collect anything because of this bug. That is the first of two game breaking bugs that are taking over 40+ of my quest and bounties slots basically making the game unplayable because I have no space for quests or bounties. The other bug which I have already posted about [https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/253903185] means that I can not collect any of the spiders wanted bounties or the weekly bounties that STILL DO give glimmer because it is not counting the glimmer as glimmer. This also applies to the glimmer for reaching certain ranks as well. I am not even going to list all the bounties that say they give EXP like the spiders daily's or glimmer like the forge ones but they give none, I have check the numbers to be sure of it. This is only one of at least 5 game breaking bugs that I have posted about but bungie has completely ignored so I have not posted about another 4 bugs because bungie can not be brother to even log the issue and add the bugs to their list. Also: " and if the events are geared towards people at 950, then the people above it will already be well into 'easy mode' which might make it boring. I think Bungie would do what they can to make it not boring, and so would either raise the cap, or have some type of adjustment in place (the Artifact bonus will definitely be reset, but 960 can be hit without the Artifact bonus)." Is 100% bull. They up the level only to make sure HUMANS can never actual finish the game they payed good money for. This occurs because when they up the light level they up the level of all enemy's in the game so that EVERY SINGLE ENEMY IN THE WARMIND CAMPAIGN WILL ONE SHOT YOU! The same is true of every enemy in the game so you can not even play any of the game until you are back to FULL light level again. The day after the jump every single enemy in reckoning one shots making it 100% impossible to do anything in the game. So you go from full light level and able to play the game to effectively 0 light level afterword so you can not do anything in the game. The only humans that say it is too easy are the fools that want everything to be "dark souls". To them I say if you want dark souls, then get off of destiny and go play dark souls, instead of trying to destroy every single game in existence because those games are not dark souls. NOTE: The fake people called streamers do not qualify as human because you have to be a part of human society to count as human so they are not counted in any of this discussion as it should be. EDIT: I suppose I should add that technically I also do not qualify but mine is only temporary and will change when I get a job.

  • With perfect RNG it will literally take until the end of the season to hit 960. Then the power level gets raised again, so there's literally no point in going for pinnacle gear, because it's useless.

  • So is max power just not going to increase for the rest of the year? Because right now it's almost mathematically impossible to hit 960 before the end of the season.

That question doesn't have an answer at this time to my knowledge. Bungie hasn't stated any plans about increasing the power for Season 9. Personally, as a player and not as a Bungie Mentor, I can imagine that it's a possibility, if only for the simple fact that when Season 9 drops, all the events and the like will have people already at or near 960, and if the events are geared towards people at 950, then the people above it will already be well into 'easy mode' which might make it boring. I think Bungie would do what they can to make it not boring, and so would either raise the cap, or have some type of adjustment in place (the Artifact bonus will definitely be reset, but 960 can be hit without the Artifact bonus).
