The Traveler doesn’t speak to us because it simply does not care for us anymore. It’s done. It did it’s job killing Ghaul. It’s not caring about anything anymore. Pretty plain and simple. It’s done it’s job as the Gardener in creating life in us. Now it’s just waiting for the Winnower to come and separate the chaff from the grain she’s created.

  • Then how do you explain the Forsaken subclasses? The Light pulses from Io? We couldn’t have done that. Where do you think all of the visions came from?

  • Obviously it came from the Traveler. That’s not what I’m saying. Did you read the last bit? That was it’s job. The Gardener’s entire purpose is to sow the seeds of life. And in giving us all that new stuff, it did it’s job.

  • You fail to recognize the Gardener’s job then. The Gardener’s job isn’t just to sow the seeds of life, it’s also to tend and care for the saplings as they grow. Even when they are grown, the gardener tends or cares for them until they die.

  • Where’s that stated in the lore. It’s not, to my knowledge. The Gardener’s purpose is to sow life into the soil of the universe and watch it grow, until the Winnower comes to separate the weak seeds from the strong.

  • Where did you get that knowledge? Oh yes, I remember. The Darkness said it. And if the Darkness said it, it must be true. Why would it lie to us? You see how ignorant that sounds?

  • Why would it lie to us? It has no reason to. It’s problem isn’t with us. It’s with the Traveler. So why would it even try lying to us about the very nature of both forces of the universe itself? The Darkness isn’t malevolent. It only threw those Nightmares at us to test our strength. Just like Calus.

  • Really? Just, really? We serve the Traveler! If it convinces is to join it, then the traveler is left undefended. Plus, it’s purpose isn’t just the traveler. It’s the annihilation of all life that cannot help itself! It has declared war on all weak life in the universe, and if you support that, then you have other problems.

  • I don’t serve the Traveler. I don’t know about you, but I have a problem with being revived from my rightful place in death as all things should be, brought back only to fight for a random orb in the sky, forced to have blind faith in it, no questions asked. Holy Jesus, you’re so full of it’s dogma already you can’t even see the flaw in your logic

  • First off, watch your profanity, second, even if you don’t serve the traveler last time the Darkness was here it almost wiped out humanity, if it weren’t for the traveler. Don’t do it for the traveler, do it for Humanity you selfish coward!

  • What humanity? They’re all gonna die again anyway..

  • That includes you whether you like it or not. You want to die a coward?

  • I’m dying a smart man. Not a coward. I’ll join the winning side.

  • Heh, you think they’ll win? Why do you think they left the first time? And they don’t need you. They’ll cast you aside first chance they get, or better yet just kill you along with the rest of humanity. You’re blinded by your own edgyness.

  • You’re the one blinded by literal blind faith. They want to separate the weak from the strong. That’s all they’re gonna do. So by their logic, you’re gone, I’m alive

  • That's a lie. They want to annihilate humanity. Calus may be a egotistical fool, but even he saw that the darkness was going to kill everything

  • What do you think they were doing during the Collapse? Why haven't they spoken to us about it?

  • Why do you think only thousands died during the Collapse and not the entirety of the population? Because they didn’t kill everyone. They only killed the weak. And they have spoken to us before then. In a couple lore tabs from even D1. So there you go

  • Because the Traveler pushed them back, that's what. The reason the Darkness is shy of this topic is because there are no facts it can twist to its use. It flat out lost, to one white ball.

If the traveler is so good why are guardians revived with no memories of their past? Wouldn't it be easier to fight an enemy we know? Personally I think the traveler caused the first collapse.

  • The reason guardians are born with no memories is because guardians memories are stored in their ghost. If brain tissue gets damaged, permanent memory loss can occur because of how memory is stored. But when you become a guardian all of the memories that you now make is stored in your ghost, which is why guardians remember everything when they get resurrected for the second time and any time after that.

Exos.. Even Exos are revived without any memories. They have no brain tissue.. No tissue at all.

  • Then Exo’s shouldn’t have any memories right? Wrong. They do. It’s the same thing with computers. If you smash a computer, then rebuild it. The memory is still gone. Sure, the computer is easily remade, but the memory is unique to it and cannot be replaced.

So what your saying is every time an exo is brought back they should have a different personality? If you smash a computer you can recover data from it. I don't think you understand how Exos work.. I mean if you smash my security cams to itsy bitsy pieces it wouldn't matter. The footage is beamed to cloud storage. The Exos had a similar backup system. The reason none of us retain memories is the traveler doesn't want us to. I'm going to go through the lore again and drop you some examples of other guardians who regained their memory after being stripped of their light.

There are guardians who shrug that notion and start to remember their past. Like Anna Brey. The Traveler does his best to wipe memories so guardians will be loyal servants. It is against vanguard rules to look into your past life.. Per Speakers' orders.
