Sadly the Ghost talking about Mars was Rasputin.
The Ghost is a machine. It's been abducted by the Vex and overtaken by both Rasputin and now the Darkness.
Not to mention nothing in the new lore motivates me to side with the genocidal Pyramid. It may have given us details on the origin of the universe and had a slight shift in motivation, but the end point is still the same.

It’s a running theme with all the Dredgens. They take that title on because they think it makes them edgy and cool. They wanna be the “bad guys” because, again, they think it’s edgy and cool.
