There is a difference between restrictions and bans. If you have been restricted, and it is your first offense you'll have to wait two weeks, if you are restricted again it goes to two months and on the third offense a permanent ban is set in place. These punishments will not be lifted early and the only way to deal with them is to wait them out.

I have been asking around my friends around it appears to be heavy amounts of bans(not a restriction) applied to ppl using a VPN to play destiny to prevent dc from the game in China. And a couple of them switched the port around since the port they used was experiencing packet lost etc. I hope these are fault bans and got further investigate by Bungie, don't use the forum a bunch so IDK how often a staff checks these posts. Thank for the reply.

Legitimate use of a VPN will not cause a ban.

Yeah, thats what I have been informed. Funny thing is one of my friends who havent played the game for half a year and jump back with Cross save which she played few comp games, got a 100-year ban today.

Most people never get a reply from BNGSecurity.

it happens, people come back, forget a piece of software that is running, software happens to fit the restricted programs types, and then ban.

Well that sucks, and there's no disputing or something for these bans.

since they use 2 factors before banning (automatic and manual verification) they do not offer an appeal as each ban was verified before being placed. Unfortunately, bans are permanent for this reason.
