Link so you can copypaste to browser if this doesn't work:
https://imgur.com/a/xWGioVN
Buncha hand tools that need to get cleaned up. Don't hate... I get it... As far as tools go, that Damascus chisel is weird as hell. Softer steel for the top and majority of the edge. Harder steel for the bottom and very tippity lead edge of the cutting edge or blade. The flat side (can't see that in the image) is hollow ground. 3 reasons I can see. Less surface contact, more overall rigidity/ability to keep an edge that could cut God, and it's easier to flatten. With that harder steel on the under, or backside flattening can be a pain. Less so when theres less material there due to the hollow grind. Upswept handle feels real good on a paring chisel. Seaward is an antique slick I picked up. In the day, J. Swan was known for making fine tools. Think like... I dunno Veritas, Lie-Nielsen, or some high end stuff from a Lee Valley catalog. They're not around anymore but that steel will take and hold a damn good cutting edge. And that one is going to stay in the kit until it's ground down to a stub (or until I grind/sharpen/hone away the laminated portion). Like the Damascus chisel, this one is also laminated in a similar way but the backside is not hollow ground. And then the hatchet. The brand is Pfiel (Pfeil??) but there isn't really much special about it. It was sold as like... a "carving tool" and I've totally used it for some rough shaping. Nice piece, good tool, the steel seems ok. But in contrast to the other 2 this one is mostly a production run tool that doesn't have much of a story yet.
