Proton/WINE false flags by anticheat. Any official updates before the move to steam?
So according to some brave guardians who risked and took the bans to test this, destiny 2 runs basically flawlessly on wine, which would imply the same for proton.... at least until its anti-cheat bans you.
I moved from windows to Debian/Linux a while ago for development and because i was tired of windows intrusive and anti-consumer OS. I have a few hundred hours of time in this game, have made purchases in the market, the whole nine. It would REALLY suck to have to just drop the game because using an official service provided by steam, destiny's new host, would result in a ban.
Wine/Proton are NOT emulators, nor do they modify game files in any way. Literally the only thing stopping Destiny 2 from running on linux is its anti-cheat software flagging linux and banning you for 'emulating' or cheating or whatever it decides it wants to wrongfully ban you for.
No I will not install windows. Thats not a fix.
