Anyone else kinda bummed that there is no lore on lots of the new exotics?
Now they just feel like a...gun. Nothing more... I can't be the only one

You're not the only one. Shadowkeep is a snooze. Bummed that the Keep is nothing more than a delivery system for a boring strike and a pretty cool story reveal. Holding out hope the dungeon is fun. Haven't done the raid but I'm baffled why its not based in the Keep itself. Also there are no Shadowkeep based weapons and armor. I'm talking new items with that red chitin spike aesthetic. Man, this dlc is such a missed opportunity. I was imagining a castle with secret hidden rooms, and crazy activities with tons of mystery and danger. I was looking forward to losing hours in there, instead I'm running through ranks in Crucible and Gambit. This is nothing new. The keep is nothing; it's an overlay on a reskinned moon map from Destiny 1. Vex invasion is the same mechanic as those old sword bearer activities from the Dark Below, just more adds, and the Vex activity you can load into is this seasons Forge or Reckoning with reskins from Curse of Osiris. Man, it' bad.

I feel the same way. Like part of what made the exotics interesting world-wise as well as functionally was just...dropped :/ It wasnt just that “i have a sword that teleports, i have a sword that teleports designed by a significant story figure and now i get the chance to be part of that too” But now like you said, now, its just a gun that happens to work well.

bungie started skipping out on exotic lore back in season of opulence, it was REALLY disappointing seeing as there was a lot of controversy surrounding the sandbox and eververse, and you couldnt say "hey, at least theres plenty of immersive lore" when in fact... there wasnt anymore. its a damn shame too, i loved reading little tidbits of backstory now and then.

I think Deathbringer does while the bow and handcannon doesn’t. It sucks we don’t have lore on the handcannon because I think it belonged to one of goth lady’s fireteam, and having lore on it would give us a little more insight on events on the moon.

Same. Just a bit disappointing. I feel like the lore on Erianna’s vow could’ve bee nice. Plus no lore tabs on raid weapons (not sure about armor haven’t seen it). Its saddening.
