Neither. Turns out that besides my sister the casual everyone else I know buys the games in part for the collecting and goal of completing the national dex. The only one out of us who even bothers with the competitive side has blasted the devs for their comments about removing pokemon for the competitive scene (in part putting blame on to him) rather than adding options to allow custom competitions and battle with different rules and ban lists.
