I’d say that all indications are that Bungie is a failing business actually. I do not believe they have a 5 year plan for their business much less a 4 year plan for the rest of this games life span. Realistically it’s quite obvious that Bungie has never had a coherent vision for this game much less a detailed plan. What they had was a cool game engine that allowed for awesome movement and not much more. That’s why we so often see the one step forward and two steps back game updates. Parallel development doesn’t work without an overarching vision to guide it. Bungie’s parallel development has failed horribly over and over because they don’t understand this.

  • With that same logic call of duty has failed too. Because every game is drastically different than the original that came out 10 years ago. You need to understand things evolve and one idea may work but maybe you want to expand on this idea or that one. I think bungie vision is guardian Killing aliens with friends or just killing your friends in crucible at the same time with loot. And tell me that hasnt changed now has it? What's changed is how you do those things but to it's core it's the same things and they are expanding and experimenting with different ways to do those very things. Am I missing where they lost their Vision?

  • I take it you never played D1 or have suffered some sort of memory loss. There is no strategic vision for the Destiny universe or vanilla D2 could not have happened. Things like Well/Luna cannot happen if there is a guiding vision for the game. So many poor design decisions for lack of a guiding principle to adhere to. The gameplay is entertaining but the game itself is a chaotic mess. That’s why 30 million people quit playing and aren’t ever coming back. It’s a failing company with a product that could be great if a little professionalism were applied

  • You are completely wrong. Yes the game was shitty at one point or multiple times in it's life cycle. Wasn't call of duty? But yet it still remains to have a true fan base and at the end of the day that's all these games Should worry about. People will leave and never come back but doesn't mean you can't draw I'm new ones to replace them. Which is what bungie is doing and will continue to do to remain afloat. Every successful business will take it's losses with it's consumers but as long as you're willing to take risk, innovate, somehow stay true to yourself and while some succeed and others don't bungie is far from failing in my eyes remember everyone left vanilla D2 and said the game is failing? Now look at Destiny after Forsaken player base came up and now it's time for bungie to build on their own vision and I don't believe theyll lose their core base which I think is a huge amount to remain afloat.

  • But Bungie is doing none of those things. They’ll declare chapter 11 within 2-3 years without a serious upgrade on the management end of things. The 10,000 customers who are left will be quite sad when the servers shut down.
