There are two things to consider here: PC migration, which is moving your Battle.net licenses (and characters) to Steam on Oct 1. In order for this to happen, you need to have both Battle.net and Steam accounts linked to your profile. https://www.bungie.net/7/en/PCMove Cross-save, which is to enable you to bring the characters of your choice from one main account to play on all platforms. https://www.bungie.net/7/en/CrossSave

I understand the differences but to do such, a prompt will come up that locks the user into the following choices --> Migrate to Steam ------>Will migrate the level 1 battle.net toon to steam and cross save from xbox will be unavailable --> Unlink Battle.net ------->Does as it says but I wish to play on Battle.net currently until 1 OCT 19 You can bypass the window through the html code and authenticate as necessary to all of the accounts but clicking next will spawn an exception on the page about tables being incorrect. Bungie messed up when programming this function and will need to deploy a fix for the many users experiencing the same bug.

  • Migrate to Steam is just showing you what will transfer on Oct 1, which is everything you have on Battle.net prior to Sept 3 19. However, if you have cross-save from Xbox enabled, those characters will be used on all platforms, not the low level (or any other) on Battle.net/Steam. If you have all three (Xbox, Battle.net and Steam) linked in your profile AND you enable Xbox as your cross-save, you can start playing on Battle.net immediately and continue on Steam on Oct 1, with your Xbox characters. Let me know if I have misunderstood the issue.

  • haha, let me try to explain again. I am blocked from enabling cross play due to the menu I stated above. Click 'Get Started' {WINDOW} -
Cross Save requires Battle.net users to migrate to Steam. You have Battle.net linked to your Bungie.net account. To Cross Save, you must migrate to Steam or unlink Battle.net.
Select 'Migrate to Steam' -
Characters Your Clan, gear, history and activity will move to Steam. Hunter Awoken Female 10 Game Content Your Battle.net Store purchases will move to Steam. Destiny 2 License Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris License Destiny 2: Warmind License
Select 'Unlink BATTLE.NET' - Does as such If I unlink my Battle.net and attempt to enable cross save, it states that my xbox account will ONLY be available on my Xbox account from cross save, kinda rhetorical and I don't wanna waste the 90 day freeze and get stuck like others on here. If I was able to bypass that window and enable cross play FIRST and then do the migration it would all work just fine but it tries to have you migrate WITHIN the crossplay feature should you have both Battle.net && Xbox linked. I have tried different combos and tinkering with the page code but it's literally coded wrong lol

  • This means you haven't done the Steam linking yet. You need to follow the steps to enable the PC migration first and then you will be able to enable cross-save. They are two separate processes and cannot be done in the same menu.

  • So I can do the steam linking and all and complete the transfer but this is what confuses me. It'll transfer my level 1 battle.net character to steam. So afterwards when I do the cross save to import my xbox to battle.net, will the imported profile then go to steam as well? I am just ensuring I don't cause irreversible future issues.

  • This is how it works: You go through your PC migration, i.e. Battle.net to Steam using the PC Move tutorial as a guide. This will get stuff ready for the move (everything you have on Battle.net to Steam) on Oct 1. Then, you enable your Xbox account as your cross-save account. This will override the low character(s) you have on Battle.net (now until Oct 1). Then when Battle.net licenses and character(s) migrate to Steam on Oct 1, your Xbox cross-save will continue to override the Steam character save. TLDR: Your cross-save characters will be the ones used on all platforms as long as you have cross-save active, no matter what the original characters on your PC account are.
