Great work, as always! There are a couple things that need correcting: The battle in the Zavala Trailer is indeed Twilight Gap, do to the presence of Cayde. We actually don’t have any lore at all that tells us if Zavala was around during Six Fronts. It’s likely that he wasn’t. You have the Vanguard timeline mixed up a little bit. Specifically, you forgot that Saint-14 stepped down from the Vanguard awhile before Twilight Gap and that Saladin was Titan Vanguard before Zavala. Saint-14 speaks of how he stepped down in Osiris comic 1 and in the final log of Saint-14’s Gray Pigeon. Osiris comic 2 shows that Osiris, Saladin, and Andal Brask were the Vanguard before Twilight Gap. At the time of Osiris’ banishment Zavala, Shaxx, Saint-14, and Ikora all attended Consensus meetings as protégés to the Speaker, Saladin, and Osiris. We don’t know when Saladin stepped down and let Zavala become Titan Vanguard. The Curse of Foresight lore, Osiris comic 2, and some other lore has brought up contradictions. The Consensus meeting in Curse of Foresight seems to be a private meeting that took place before Osiris was publicly banished, but Osiris comic 1 shows that Saladin was still Titan Vanguard when Osiris was banished and Ikora hadn’t taken Osiris’ place as Warlock Vanguard. Also, it seems that Saladin served as the acting Vanguard Commander during Twilight Gap, commanding City forces. As you mentioned, Shaxx ignored Saladin’s order to retreat. In that case, Saladin would have stepped down after Twilight Gap, letting Zavala replace him. But it’s also possible that Zavala was the Commander during Twilight Gap and Saladin just helped command the Guardians. But because Curse of Foresight seems to contradict other lore, we don’t know for certain when Zavala if became Commander before or after Twilight Gap.
