I would recommend [i]The Inheritance Cycle[/i] by Christopher Paolini. The dude is a master, a genius with a pen. Only the most recent installment in the series is less than 200 pages long, though, so it’s long. And somewhat complicated, though I read the series and understood the plot as a 12-year-old, so it’s not that bad.
