Edited by Steel Assassin: 7/4/2019 3:25:15 PMI do not recommend Wheel of Time. I just finished reading it for the first time. It's not terrible, but it's not great. There are some books in the series where just nothing happens, or parts even in the good books that just want to make you fall asleep. It feels like a dumbed down version of A Song of Ice and Fire. Also, the author has some misogynistic views that come through, or at least a sitcom level of understanding about how men and women interact. With respect, the best part of the series was written by another guy (Brandon Sanderson) after the original author passed away. Also, it's 14 1,000 page books, so it's quite a time sink.

I am going to read the first one, then i will decide.

Fair enough. I hope if you do stick with it you enjoy the series more than me. Just a heads up, I didn't have any problems with book 1, my gripes came several books later.

yeah i have friend who stopped at book 4, he said it was to slow and he saw the writers religious views creeping in.
