In your case, I'd totally recommend Moby Dick.
And Frank Herbert's Dune. Probably the best science fiction novel ever wrote. And, in my opinion, the only science fiction novel that can be classified as literature.

But I know the story of MD. I watched MD with Patrick Stewart and other versions of MD. I'd rather read something that's a 100% new to me. And Dune, Zardos said it's kinda like Star Wars and I'm not a big fan of Star Wars.

Edited by albinomachina: 7/1/2019 10:26:05 PMNone of the movie adaptations of Moby Dick really get into the nitty gritty details of whaling like the novel did. I think you'd really appreciate it after you read it.

Edited by albinomachina: 7/1/2019 10:26:23 PMStar Wars stole a lot of stuff from Dune but they're nothing alike. Dune is a very multi-layered book that deals with a lot of subjects on a lot of different levels. It's about religion, government, ecology, drug addiction and more. Star Wars touched on some of those themes with Vader, but it's a lot less "intellectual" than Dune is. I really can't recommend it enough. If you like any type of sci-fi at all you should at least give it a shot. It's probably the most important science fiction novel ever wrote.
