So I just scrolled through some Tweets- SHOOT ME IN THE FACE. The dichotomy of acceptance; Pride month business and leftist influences on the LGBTQ community

SO I hope I have made it clear at this point that I am accepting of LGBTQ individuals; if not you keep on being an idiot, it's a free country. Here is a scathing yet positive critique of this years pride month, scathing against all people and positive against the capitalistic system we have in this country, which (reminder) gave you, your friends, your neighbors and family every single amenity you so blindly take advantage of and benefit from. So let's start with the good, because If I didn't end with the bad I'd be betraying my namesake; This year I saw more businesses catering to the LGBTQ community than ever before; this strikes me as GOOD. When businesses begin serving a community of the previously marginalized and ignored it is a GOOD sign. BuT sPeAkEr! They're just cashing in on the hype of the month long event and they'll go back to ignoring the community! Well, yes and no. It's certainly likely that business will go back to ignoring gays but, IT WILL GROW! especially since business and community alike needs to grow to be successful. if pride month continues to escalate and as more businesses jump on the bandwagon, it will become more and more normalized. When businesses and advertisers ESPECIALLY begin catering to a certain trend, whether it have staying power like pride month or not; it becomes part of the market, and it benefits the system as a whole, when people spend money on it. Basic tenets of economy: SPENDING UP= ECONOMY GOOD SPENDING DOWN= ECONOMY LESS GOOD NO SPENDING= ECONOMY BAD When the LGBTQ community begins normalizing their flag, their colors and their diversity in the market they are gaining the acceptance of more people than they are losing, while Humans can be stupid an intellectually dissonant at times, all not-so-dumb humans can appreciate that good business is just that... a means to make money and support oneself, businesses would be absolutely foolish not to accept the GAY business, and to not cater to GAY business. What the LGBTQ community does not seem to understand because they have been infected with leftist communist concepts is that businesses catering to them and trying to get their money is a VERY GOOD THING, in fact it's a HUGE step towards acceptance of LGBTQ in our society; America was founded on the basis of free enterprise and individual freedom. Now the bad: Leftist LGBTQ sentiment is to shun this enterprising, as if somehow homosexuality and LGBTQ culture can survive the culture war without paying their dues and voting with their wallets- This to me is so hilariously backwards. Gay adults and teens alike are rejecting the businesses that want to serve and make money off of them in direct contradiction to what they wanted; acceptance. So many quotes: Corporations trying to Co-Opt Pride is awful. companies who do literally NOTHING for the lgbtq+ communtiy, trying to use#pridemonth to sell their the lgbtq+ mediocre shit community Companies using Pride to sell you rainbow printed or colored shit you don’t need to further line their pockets is trash. Capitalism won’t liberate us. That last one is fantastic because it's the most absolutely backwards thing. Seeing as Capitalism allows a people to liberate themselves, and provided people with every single utility, infrastructure, entertainment device, communication device, and food item that you so eagerly consume. Leftist gay brothers be like: Capitalist evil; *eats Oreo's and buys prophylactics.* Saturday F.U.

First, can they get a different flag?
Literally anything(religious reason)
Second, I don’t like them forcing me to accept them. I have a religious objection, now move on with your life like any other person. Do I go around suing people because they disagree with my religion? NO! Umm he he. I was a little mad.
to clarify though I don’t support gay, but I normally just keep my mouth shut and move on.
• We have capitalism? That's weird, all I see is corporate bailouts and subsidies. Isn't that the opposite of capitalism? 🤷🏼‍♂️

            • Companies joining in on pride month is just the beginning of exploiting it for cash. It’s just a much much lesser version of what that CyberPunk 2077 add was.

                  • You can find views on Twitter for and against everything. Just because a few people said some stuff on twitter doesn’t mean it represents what the entirety of the left (or right) think. What annoys me is when you see some article or post that’s says “look what liberals are saying now”. When in reality it’s just a few random nobodies saying stupid stuff on social media. The left and the right are not a monolithic hive mind with identical views (even though the whole NPC meme thing wants us to believe it is). Both sides are made up of individuals with a huge variety of opinions and positions. I for one am all in favor of corporate support for the LGBT movement. Even if it is just a hollow cash grab it still helps to de-stigmatize LGBT people.

I don't mind products being marketed towards LGBT+. I actually really like when companies do go out of their way during Pride month to offer something to LGBT+ community. For example, Bungie's donated to LGBT+ support group and sold gaymer pride pins. The rainbow logos every company switches to are a bit patronizing. I suppose it's nice that the company is showing support, but it's still a company which means the decision was likely made by a marketing team to score brownie points. I suppose the same thing could be said about what Bungie did in my example, but they did more than the bare minimum to show that they care.
