Edited by Xc_LuxZenRa: 6/22/2019 7:58:27 AMand that sounds way more enticing that was is being suggested? you rather continue with this time gated method bungie has and this boring/wasteful method you present of collecting cores? it comes down to How we are able to obtain them and how many while at the same time enjoying your time in the destiny world. you do understand this just causes you to regrind for planetary materials that you will need for infusion; essentially increasing the grind, right? what about the method I suggested?
Etheric Light to be a base for infusion? I'm not so sure it would be fair towards the newbies. An end game player with often two masterworked guns would make too many EL for his needs, and what would he have to infuse at that point? Year 1 gear? Infusion is more of a need to a leveling player, who does not already has something mw-ed. If he does, he'd be forced to use it, instead of using what he's most accustomed to.
how wouldn't it be fair to newbies? they have a few options as to how to gain Orbs of Light. 1) They use their own super 2) Play a Strike With Randoms(most likely higher level than you meaning orbs of light will be generated by them for you to pick up) 3) Crucible 4) The Gunsmith Bounty can provide them with Orbs of Light for completing said Bounty. Remember with the Release of New Light Players will be ready to jump into endgame activities giving them more access to accumulate those orbs with the help of others. Just like we have Engram Starter Packs bungie could give new players a Gunsmith Starter Pack. This pack would function like a Fire-team medallion. you use it and it gives you 1 week to earn orbs of light after completing a strike(as an example). In reality it would not matter how many Etheric Light they have accumulated. The goal in a Looter Shooter is not to infuse to Max level. the goal is to earn gear and experiment with Builds. In this scenario and approach to endgame builds would require Enhancement Cores and Not Etheric Light. Currently we are unable to experiment with builds because it takes a considerable amount of time(Time Gates) to earn cores as it is currently. once the player has already finished infusing they can go ahead and start the real fun; creating load outs for certain situations. If Anything those Players would be creating more Etheric Light for newer players whenever they are match-made in strikes, Raids, Crucible, ect.
Side note No.1) D2 is already one huge addictive grindfest anyway. Collecting the materials is not that much of a grind imho. Shell perks are quite helpful there. Just keep 4-5 of them with you all the time, and you should be fine. Not that new shells are dropping at the same rate as armor and guns.
we can both agree that currently it is not that much of a grind when it comes to materials expect Enhancement Cores because they require more work even though they are easy to do. they don't have s viable form of grinding. I can't play destiny to my hearts content and earn cores. In warframe I could grind for the rarest material and never be told I have hit a limit for the day. Destiny does; I need to do a set of objectives that refresh everyday witch limits my grind.
