I know others with the Astro series headsets and they have no issue. This could be an issue with your sound card, maybe the sound card drivers. It appears that you are like me and using the onboard Realtek sound system. At one point I had an issue where Windows updated those drivers and my audio was reversed. I fixed it by going and downloading the Realtek driver suite, which gives you a lot more options than Windows provides. If you haven't tried that, give it a shot. You can find the drivers here: https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/pc-audio-codecs-high-definition-audio-codecs-software Next, are you using Optical for your audio on the A40's or are you using USB? I have a similar headset, the Siberia P800, that I use with the Optical port. The headset chat uses USB. I think the A40s work the same way, or can work the same way. Might be worth looking at.

I'm using the optic for the A40s. The USB is plugged in as well because the instructions said it needs USB to power the mixamp. (it uses both usb and optic on the PS4 for the same reason) it also has adapters to plug directly into controllers like an ordinary headphone as well (I'm able to use it on xbox one like this by plugging it into my xbox pro controller.) My primary microphone is the At 2005 USB (better quality microphone) When I use the A40s it's selected to use the mixamp instead of the onboard Realtek stuff (I make the mixamp the default device) and that hasn't affected anything either. I can hear other people just fine, but no one can hear me, and the game doesn't even put the microphone by my name for others to show I even have a microphone at al while in chat. This is why I say it's acting like I don't even have a microphone no matter what I do. Again, Destiny 2 is also the only game or application I have this problem with. I will attempt the drivers but I highly suspect the possibility of some hardware or something on my system not being supported or recognized by the game somehow... which is odd since literally everything else, even other battle.net games, have no issue. update: i appear unable to download from the site lol... I check the "i accept" box and click download and it gives me an error telling me to please agree with the statement.... that I already checked the box for. Ah well... Also, to add, realtek is never selected as the default recording device. It's listed as not plugged in, the USB microphone is listed as its own thing, same with the headset microphone from the astro mixamp. though that does make me wonder... Is Destiny hard coded to only use the realtek recording options? that might explain why it acts like nothing is plugged in if it's completely ignoring all windows and battle.net settings....

  • Here, I threw the 64-bit installer on my dropbox for download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/e4k4kitiwfih69m/0009-64bit_Win7_Win8_Win81_Win10_R282.exe?dl=1

  • As I said, I'm willing to give it a try, but I don't see it fixing anything if it's not selected to use realtek as the recording device in the first place, unless of course D2 is hard coded to use only that and for me to plug in a microphone into the microphone jack and not USB or optic or anything else... I think that's the only thing I have not tried is using a jenky microphone that plugs in with a jack into the realtek soundboard thing...
