Goood.... an entire month a negligibly-sized group of humans dedicate towards bolstering their arrogance and hubris based upon reducing their value and identity to their sexuality. I shall enjoy watching your self-destruction, sir. 🐲🍿

 • Ah yes, yet another individual who knows nothing about the true message of “pride month”. Pride month isn’t about being proud of one’s sexuality, it’s about being proud for suffering through constant hate and bigotry through the years because of our sexuality. It’s also a celebration of the many advances in the rights of lgbt people across the globe, and a celebration of those who continue to do so. Hell, homosexuality is still punishable by death in some countries. So say what you will about us being arrogant, but it’s far better than being ignorant, like yourself.

So are you all masochistic?
It’s also a celebration of the many advances in the rights of lgbt people across the globe, and a celebration of those who continue to do so.
Yes... it appears “pride” is an amusingly fitting word after all.
Hell, homosexuality is still punishable by death in some countries. • Ah yes, an entire month where a group that would have been beaten, killed, fired from their jobs, etc. just for having a characteristic that they themselves cannot change can celebrate it in relative peace.

 • No, the people who were burned alive, executed, jailed and denied basic social rights at the behest of Christianity (among others) for centuries.

 • Yes, that describes Christians to a T pre-Roman Empire until Constantine took over. They had them fight in lion pits where they were torn to pieces. Meanwhile, gay people were NOT being killing.

 • They were where Judaism held sway. And once Christianity took over guess what? Same thing, right up until the 20th Century. Its hilarious that all these attempted "gotcha!" lines only serve to illustrate how long this has gone on

 • Whatever kiddo. What you’re doing right now is basically the same thing as a child complaining that another child has a slightly larger piece of cake and then overzealously celebrating when the 1mm thick extra slice gets put your plate. Get over yourself lmao.

In 1 post you explained in detail how little you understand of what we are arguing about.

The fact you cant stump up a single one shows we both know full well what the truth is, except one of us is in full-on denial. Hint: its not the one who sees nothing wrong with Pride.

Now, seeing as you dodged the question, we know the answer is "no". Pride Day/Week/Month is for Gay people to finally celebrate their belated social recognition after centuries of abhorrent treatment that, unfortunately, still rears its head more often than it should, whether overtly, or in a more subtle manner. A manner such as wilful misrepresentation of what Pride is about, or snarking about how its somehow "unfair"

Interesting...
Now, seeing as you dodged the question, we know the answer is "no".
I actually didn’t dodge the question. I answered it well beyond your capacity to consider.
Pride Day/Week/Month is for Gay people to finally celebrate their belated social recognition after centuries of abhorrent treatment that, unfortunately, still rears its head more often than it should, whether overtly, or in a more subtle manner.
You now want to ascribe an entire month of pride, hubris, narcissism, and ego towards Gay-folk. This is hilarious. Christians and Buddhists have been persecuted for far longer, yet you don’t attribute a month to their celebration.
A manner such as wilful misrepresentation of what Pride is about, or snarking about how its somehow "unfair"
Clearly the foundational definition of the word ”pride” is far beyond you. The world is not fair. I’m merely calling you out on your hypocrisy and inconsistencies.

Interesting...
RECOGNISED. If you're going to try and twist words, you need to do better than that.
I actually didn’t dodge the question. I answered it well beyond your capacity to consider.
Nah, you 100% dodged it and you're continuing to do so. Its a yes or no.
You now want to ascribe an entire month of pride, hubris, narcissism, and ego towards Gay-folk. This is hilarious.
See "wilful misrepresentation". If being happy to finally get out from under the heel of centuries of oppression is "narcissism" you must be reading a different dictionary to the rest of the planet.
Christians and Buddhists have been persecuted for far longer, yet you don’t attribute a month to their celebration.
Mmmm no, no they havent. Christians and Buddhists have had safe harbour for way longer than they've experienced wholesale oppression. Actual countries that adopted them. Name one example like that which applies to Gay people - I await your second dodge.

A manner such as wilful misrepresentation of what Pride is about, or snarking about how its somehow "unfair"
Clearly the foundational definition of the word ”pride” is far beyond you. The only inconsistencies in this thread are "I'm not Homophobic, I just dont like gay people" and Americans wondering why Gay people get to celebrate their escape from oppression.

 •

And how many of those groups have only just recently been recognised in the eyes of society?
So now you say only recently established groups get to be celebrated. Interesting...
RECOGNISED. If you're going to try and twist words, you need to do better than that.
False. Clearly you don’t know your history. Homosexuality has been practiced for thousands of years. Recognition wasn’t relevant because of how common and mundane the practice was. It was only until around the time of the sexual revolution when various insecure humans decided to reduce their identity to their sexuality that the group was established.

I actually didn’t dodge the question. I answered it well beyond your capacity to consider.
Nah, you 100% dodged it and you're continuing to do so. Its a yes or no.
False. That would only be true from an ignorant, reductionist perspective. My answer surpassed your capacity of consideration.

An ignorant claim. On the contrary, the word choice of the gay community is comical. Clearly you are ignorant of what the etymological foundation of “pride” actually is. Synonymous with ego, hubris, narcissism, and ego. Or perhaps that term is indeed quite accurate as such is the behavior they tend to demonstrate.

Christians and Buddhists have been persecuted for far longer, yet you don’t attribute a month to their celebration.
Mmmm no, no they havent. Christians and Buddhists have had safe harbour for way longer than they've experienced wholesale oppression.
You make yet another ignorant statement without considering that both safe harbors and persecution zones can simultaneously exist...
Actual countries that adopted them. Name one example like that which applies to Gay people - I await your second dodge.
Try Greece...

A manner such as wilful misrepresentation of what Pride is about, or snarking about how its somehow "unfair"
Clearly the foundational definition of the word ”pride” is far beyond you. The world is not fair. I’m merely calling you out on your hypocrisy and inconsistencies.
Not everything is rooted in its foundational definition, otherwise North Korea would be a Democracy.
False. Everything IS in fact rooted in its foundational definition. The issue is when people (such as yourself for example) ignorantly misuse their own language.
The only inconsistencies in this thread are "I'm not Homophobic, I just dont like gay people" and Americans wondering why Gay people get to celebrate their escape from oppression.
Homophobic... homo meaning “sameness” and phobia meaning “fear”... combined meaning “fear of sameness”. How does “fear of sameness” equate with “dislike of gay-folk”? It seems they are more amused of the fact that the gay community requires an entire month to celebrate what they do with their genitals instead of other massively victimized groups being allotted a month to celebrate their own culture’s or heritage’s influence upon America.
