Come on man, put fanfiction in the title when you write about something called the Darkness
English
-
Maybe check the tags.
-
I did, but I can't see the tag when I'm scrolling down the forum. All I saw was Darkness and thought I was about to have a cool discussion, but instead I got a fan fic
-
Then just keep scrolling.
-
Well I wanted to save you from hate comments and hecklers, just put (fanfiction) in the title
-
This is a long running series and you are the first person to be said 'heckler'
-
I'm not trying to be a problem, all I'm saying is it's kinda an unspoken rule that fanfiction writers give a fair warning that the post they're making is not actual lore. It's just how we operate, just put fanfiction in the title
-
If you dont like it, keep scrolling.
-
Dude, what gives? Why are you being so stubborn about this? Just give people fair warning, it's a decent thing to do
-
Edited by True: 4/6/2019 1:25:38 AMBecause it's my story, my work, and my title. If a change is going to be made, it's going to be becuase I want to make it. In addition, you are literally the only person to leave any sort of comment regarding this, which makes this a complete nonissue to me.
-
<Hey dude, I changed... And then moved my fanfic stuff to somewhere else but that's not the point. It ain't a big deal m8. Praise the ∆ and have a nice day.>
-
Actually all you really did was take everything from Destiny and then put two characters you conjured up in a scenario. It's not even your title, Bungie made the Darkness so even then that's mute
-
Edited by True: 4/6/2019 1:35:28 AMBecause creating two characters and building upon in game story isnt legitimate work. And as for the title, The Darkness is an abstract concept that can be applied to many things. In this case, its referencing how Sara has been steadily falling from grace and is looking less and less like a Guardian everyday, and this is the penultimate moment where she stops being what most would consider a conventional hero to be.
-
So... The shadows of Yor
-
No? The Shadows are misguided and believe that humanity and the traveler arent worth saving, Sara believes in humanity and wants them to survive, but has lost faith in the Vanguard and is painfully aware that the light is not going to solve their problems. She has slowly started to accept that perhaps wielding both Darkness and Light is the only way to ensure humanity survives. Very much unlike the Shadows, Sara isnt abandoning the light or actively seeking to destroy it. She is simply ready to use any weapon she can get her hands on and is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, even if that means turning her back on the Vanguard.
-
Actually that's very much what the Shadow's are about, even then it's identical to the Drifter and his whole shtick
-
Still wrong. The Drifter has pretty much given up on humanity and is only looking out for himself. Sara is using him as much as he is using her.
-
Alright so is Sarah the Guardian of legend or just a Guardian?
-
Yes, she is my self insert for the games. But as I said, my story is building upon what the in game story sets up and how I see my Guardian reacting to everything, as well as building a completely original narrative about a Guardian disillusioned with the Vanguard who is seeking a new way to do things.
-
Well maybe you should take a look at characters like Orin, Osiris, and Toland for some more inspiration
-
At this point you are just trying to start shit, so I'm not going to feed into you any further. Unless you have some legitimate constructive criticism then keep scrolling.
-
Actually I was being serious, I recommend looking at these characters and see how you can build or improve off of those ideas. Three characters that split from the vanguard for different yet similar reasons, look at how they work and then make your story better as a result It might suprise you but I'm a writer as well, I know what to look out for when it comes to improvment. Hell I could DM you a story I made and you could go to pound town on me and get your revenge, I'd still learn from your criticism
-
I'm not looking to involve myself in some pointless online pissing contest. I just want to tell my story how I want to.
-
You don't want to improve? I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying literally everything written in history can be perfected And again, just put fanfiction in the title
