Todd howard claims fallout 76 was "massively successful"

In an interview a few days ago, todd howard himself claims that fallout 76 has millions of players (most of which abandoned the game on day one) and is massively successful to this day. After the lies, the horrible launch, the bugs and glitches and all the banning, todd howard at this point is acting like "this is fine." Anyways, that's all I've got to say at this point [spoiler]it's funny how the last fallout game got game of the year and fallout 76 was easily one of the worst game launches to date[/spoiler]

  • I got a copy with my new Xbone since it was about a hundred bucks cheaper than all the other options and have been playing the shit out of it with friends. Honestly, games pretty fun. I think it got judged a bit harshly, similar to Mass Effect Andromeda, and I'm definitely guilty of that. I expected it to be broken trash with pay to win microtransactions and shit, but nah. I mean it's definitely not the greatest shit ever but it's also not the worst like, say, Anthem. I give it a solid "better than Fallout 4"

    • I've hated Todd Howard ever since he ruined the Elder Scrolls with Oblivion and Skyrim. I hope he dies of colo-rectal cancer, and burns in hell for all eternity.

      • Maybe it was massively successful from a financial standpoint. I don’t know what the sales figures or micro transaction revenue is. Something can be a bomb critically and still be a financial success. If they didn’t spend much money making the game and it sold enough copies then it’s a financial success. Of course if I was Todd Howard I’d be more worried about the damage done to their reputation than how much money they made on a mediocre cash grab game.

        • Fallout 76's biggest problem is that it doesn't know what game it wants to be. The story structure is too boring and basic for their RPG fanbase and the survival aspects are too light for survival game fans. Fixing bugs and glitches or even adding content won't make the game actually a good game until they either focus on the story side of things to make it more like their single player games or focus on the survival/multiplayer side of things and make it a better survival game. Anthem has the same problem. Both sides of the game don't work well with each other, but they tried to mix them together.

        • I haven't really thought about it, but I guess I have not seen a single person on my friends list playing this game for at least a month now. It was such a disappointment.
