Transcendence Story Sign-Ups {Closed}
This is the beginning of a new story written by Myself with lore and combat composed by Agent Wyoming.
The story follows Four primary factions, each with their own beliefs and goals. Human society has developed around a powerful magic, Transcendence, an energy that gives power to those who are either born with it or become enhanced by it. Leaving behind scars and crystal constructs throughout the Corundum Star System, Transcendence has become a point of contention among the human race.
Please put down basics for your character (i.e. gender, personality, looks), the decision of what group you will be (And thus your name, general backstory, and magic abilities - if any - will be determined by) a quiz for those who make it into the story.

Guarded: Following a costly war with a rival faction , the Guarded now own the largest slice of power ever known to them. However, their expended resources due to the long war they've recently come out of has opened them up to attack by their foolish foes, the Legionnaires. Locked in a war against the lesser faction of xenophobic wretches, it is merely a matter of time before the Guarded once again claim dominance over the Star System.
Consortium: The greatest business of the cosmos is war, and there are no greater businessmen then the Consortium. Developing technologically advanced armor and weapons harnessing the power of transcendence for use in war, the Consortium has grown rich off the power they have sold to both the Guarded and the Legionnaires. With no foreseeable end to the conflict in sight, things are looking up for the market of war.
Crystal Hunters: Among the wilds and behind the scenes, the Crystal Hunters search for the greatest treasure of all: transcendence. Combing the system for any and all special resources, the Hunters have amassed a sizable stock of gear, equipment, and artifacts granting inside to the world's past. Watching the war unfold from the side lines, one can't help but wonder what may be left behind on the field's of carnage.
Legionnaires: Following years of silent gathering and plotting in the shadows, the Legionnaires are at last ready to fight against the depleted Guarded. Full of vigor and conviction, the Legionnaires won't let humanity fall into the lie that transcendent energy offers: godhood. With their righteous cause and strong wills, failure is not an option, and victory will be the only outcome.

I'll put up a character I made a few years ago, cause why not. Name: Azura Heart Gender: Male Age: 18-25 (use whatever you want if this doesn't work) Faction: I do wonder if neutral/mercenaries exist, that'd be cool. If not, the Legionnaires. Looks: -white hair, short and wavy -light yellow eyes -pale (kinda alabaster pale) skin -a scar on his back side -6 feel tall Personality: Pros: -tempered -confident -willing to do what he thinks is right, as long as it's within reason -optimistic and thinks bad people can become good (can be a con, depends on person) -likes helping others -good at communicating with others -quick thinker Cons: -stubborn -dislikes being helped unless it's a close friend or something -can be distracted easily -readily trusts people (connected to the 4th pro) -hates people talking about his family Backstory: only known family member was his mother, who personally trained him to be prepared for battle in case she died. When she did die, Azura was left with a magical red-colored scarf (since you said "magical" stuff was allowed) as the only heirloom of his family (you can add more if ya want). Now, he fights for the Legionnaires, the only other people he knows, never letting people talk bad about her. Magic abilities: (I would do weapon stuff, but idk what the weaponry would be) -the scarf: allows him to cast a shield over himself -can create illusions of himself (would that be OP? Is that even allowed?) -maybe not magical, but I think it would be fun to see what can be done with the blue jump thing Lightning can do in Final Fantasy 13 to jump farther and fall for a long distance without getting hurt. It acts like some sort of gravity well or something. You can see it in the opening cinematic. [spoiler]Yes, Azura is supposed to look a little feminine. I wanted his character to look like his mother when I originally made him.[/spoiler] Hope this one turns out well, even if my character doesn't make it in.
