They won't remove them because a lot of us only login to get/horde cores to level up our shit to get to 700 and be ready for the next DLC. If not for cores, we wouldn't be logging in till the next one comes out since we've done all we've wanted to do. For some reason - maybe they need to show investors - they need to show that daily logins are still there, aka "the game's not dead." makes no sense to me since other franchises just let you pass the game and you still buy the sequel when it comes out no matter how long the gap is between games. but not Destiny's devs... they love making you do boring shit to be able to play their next thing. You'd think the Black Armory fiasco would teach them no one wants to work to be able to play a game they paid for, but here we are, needing to level up our gear and light to play the next thing.

  • What investors? And because I doubt that makes sense to you, I will explain a little bit. Bungie is not publicly traded. If they need money, they get a loan. Banks that deal in the multi-millions (see Bungie's split with Activision, specifically how much money went to Activisions pockets courtesy of Bungie) do not micromanage the companies they loan money to. They know the laws of international banking, not how to make a video game or boost fuel milage on a car or which fruit 18-25 year old males want to drink in their beer this year. Basically, Bungie can do what they want to do with the game. If they decide tomorrow to make every gun shoot rainbows they need only answer to themselves, because there are no investors.

  • Cores don't prevent you from hitting max light level though. If you were to never get another enhancement core again, youd still be able to hit 700. At the same rate as if you were given 50 cores every time you logged in. So I don't think that's it

  • Well yeah but it'd take forever for you to get your favorite weapon to magically rng drop at 700, if not impossible. You need cores to infuse or just use grenade launchers all day since that's all i seem to get from prime engrams anyway.
