Comp - 4 stack vs No stack

I have perhaps one or two friends that play this game, and i’m not really that invested to spend time on an lfg to find people. However, when i do, say play comp, I’ve been repeatedly matched against stacks of 4, to which then there was an inevitable defeat. Parties of 4 should be matched with similar parties of 4 (or are there not that many players in this game?) Edit: (To include a general comment I made earlier) I would like to make it aware that I acknowledge that large teams do not equate to godhood. My main concern is the difference between the teams availability of communication. It may be bad luck with matchmaking on my part but I’ve intercepted many flanks that could have been avoided with a single location callout. Joining an LFG is not an option for me as many websites are dead, and most of the recruiters (like people on the app) often request highly skilled players, which I may say I am roughly average on most accounts. There’s also the fact that there is a growing obligation to play competitive in order to match the large number of pinnacle weapon users in quickplay. This is expectably true as many quests request gambit or crucible participation in some form or fashion

  • Solos should never fade stacks, especially in comp. make 1s match with 1s, 2s with 2s, etc,

    • If you’re too lazy to lfg it’s on you. It’s a 4 person activity that requires communication. Sry to put it so bluntly but bungie doesn’t need to waste resources on matchmaking bc of lazy people like yourself. Takes 5 min or less to join/form a group for the “group” activity you’re playing.
why is common sense so f ing hard for people
• If you’re not invested enough to LFG then you’re not invested enough to get the rewards of Comp. I know that sounds like a dick thing to say but it’s true, it’s not a casual playlist and the more casual it is made then the less prestigious the rewards will be. I actually think the fact Luna is so easy to get is why it is the problem it is in the sandbox. I do think there should be a Rumble based pinnacle weapon/quest for solo players though.

When you start to get closer to 2100 you tend to get more 4 stacks. Might be your gun game though too. I've only seen one group that was using NF, and they ate us the first time. Second time we edged out past them. Most the other 4 stacks I ran against tended to also not be the greatest ( I say most, because there are a few that kicked my ass with mida and....LORD OF WOLVES). 4 stacks aren't always good. Time of day also matters. Around 10p - 2am is usually when the crazies are on.

        • if you are not doing the things to gain advantage then you are not being "competitive".

            • The other day I ran into two games of four stack, hunter (w/ stompees) spectral blade, dust rock, Lunas/NF and Wardcliff. I was a lone warlock running Cerberus top tree dawnblade. My team was also solos. (We had a balanced team of shotguns, bows, fusions, snipers and variation of classes). We absolutely dominated their team. I can say that they weren’t easy or bad players. Rather they played very cunningly but it’s just that some of the solos at comp really know how to pull their own weight.

              • Just because people are playing with their buddies, in “stacked” teams, it doesn’t mean they will win every time. I’ve played against them all and there is no difference playing against “stacked” teams or playing against a team of randoms.

                • Not that many players in comp. ....and its a ranked competitive list. Its designed to be played team vs team.

                  • Top tip Don't play a team based multiplayer game if you are going to moan about other people playing a team based multiplayer game as a team. This game was never designed or optimised for solo players.

                    • I'm in the same boat as you. I mainly play solo. The difference is, what I do, is if i see i meld together with other randoms on a match, i send them a message asking if they want to party up. 9/10 they will say yes, because they are probably in comp solo for the same reason you are. After that, you make more friends that play comp, and you get better as a team. Once again, I mainly play solo, but now, because I took a small step, I have fireteams ready to go. Worst case scenario, they say no. Best case, you get a fireteam and maybe a new destiny buddy.

                    • Yep, we need fireteam matching in every pvp/gambit mode.

Bungie are just plain incompetent at this point, you may be better off directing your feedback to someone like Unkown player or Datto or the likes. Maybe just slip in a D2 feedback request amongst the video replies for example ;)

                    • Yep. Big issue. I don’t however think it’s on bungie radar
