Division 2 is in a good position

The reviews are in, the people who paid for division 2 early access have tried it. And there's been overall praise for the game for the most part. A lot of people have said division 2 has barely any loading screens, there's little to no glitches (so far). And instead of tedious point defense missions (*cough* anthem) levels take you all around the map, and have interesting level mechanics. So, maybe division 2 is one of the best looter shooters we've had so far going by the reviews.

  • Just got to 30 last night and I'm really impressed with the division 2. Loading is well hidden so it seems like you are pretty much always in the game. Loot is so abundant I was constantly trying new items and mods and breaking down or selling stuff. Matchmaking and enemy scaling seemed quick and great. Stable as any thing I've ever played, I'm on Xbox so ymmv. Best part is I'm not even close to done. Still a lot on my map including the stronghold. Still a bunch of skills to try out and apparently the black tusk faction re take territory.

    • Just bought it today, and in spite of the fact that I am not a fan of 3rd person shooters, I have to say this game is pretty damn amazing. Been playing it all day and have enjoyed every minute! I convinced 2 other close friends to buy it and they are hooked too. 👍

    • The reason for that is die to anthem also realizing just a few weeks prior and now all games if it's kind are compared to it and will most likely come out looking better because anthem really lowered the bar. Hell I went back to D2 and am having more fun with it than I have in months, all thanks to how terrible anthem released.

        1. Actually the game has lots of loading screens. Massive is just **very good** at hiding them. You get loading screens whenever you fast travel.....and you're also getting loading screens every time the game is having you either ride in an elevator or go up or down ladders or ropes. 2. The first Division game actually launched with MORE stability problems and glitches than Anthem did...and it took Massive MUCH longer to fix them. The Divison 2 is a SEQUEL....so massive had three years of live time with The Division to smooth out all the problems. So comparing a three year old franchise to a brand new one is just silly. 3. What "level mechanics"?? 4. The Division 2 deserves the praise its getting for three reasons a. Massive stuck with The Division and fixed all of its problems when they could have "taken the money and ran". b. Massive turned to their community to ask them what kind of game we wanted to play. They LISTENED to us. ACTED on what we told them and THEN ASSESSED the accuracy of what they'd done (BUNGIE). So the last 2 years was basically a giant beta test for the sequel. c. They applied all that they learned from overhauling the first game....applied it to the sequel...and then BUILT upon it creatively. So you have a game that is very interesting blend of shooter game....loot game....and open-world RPG that makes SENSE as an open world game. Anthem has its problems....but BioWare is fixing them fast...and doing MANY of the same "right things" that Massive did in turing The Division franchise into what we see now. Actually of the three companies, I'd say that Bungie in the most precarious position. They are fighting with their customers....ignoring feedback...and focusing on giving us new things to do. But largely ignoring giving us new things to chase.

        • I’m enjoying it so far, but it’s impossible to say at this point how much I’ll like the endgame, which is really all that matters. They’ve added 8 man raids this time around, so I’m hoping that’s a worthwhile addition. Didn’t really care for the “incursions” in Division 1. I played Division 1 for over 500 hours, and all within the first 3-4 months it was out. If I get even half of that out of this game I’ll be happy. I do have to say that the smaller and separated dark zones seem like a negative for me. The first game I spent most of my time -blam!-ing with people in the dark zone. Most people didn’t like it, but I thought it was great. I really hope the smaller zones don’t mean the DZ will have reduced importance this time around.

          • Is there anything new in the game or is it more a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" type situation?

It's a pretty good game but dang does it feels lonely and boring at times... that is just me I know but a post-apocalyptic setting with modern weapons and all feels kinda meh to me. The game is very well done and I'm sure fans are happy about it but I just can't get into it! Maybe it's the setting since I've always love sci-fi/fantasy. Anyone else feels the same? Also I can't get used to the confusing UI. I'm sure it makes sense in the long run but damn is it clustered with info.

              • I had my doubts during the beta, but so far it's exceeded my expectations. It's not just straightforward missions like the first game, the side missions have quite a bit of story to them and are much longer. And the constant activities in each district keep you busy so there's always something to do. And the music...Ubisoft give your sound design team a freakin' raise, they more than deserve it! Honestly if Sekiro wasn't coming out this month, i really think Division 2 would be the top game of March.

              • It’s seems alright, I think it’ll fall a little flat late game but be fun otherwise unless they add more to it later in updates rather than DLC...

              • They only had 4+ years of feedback and they are not Bungie. Right there should automatically make it better.

                • I absolutely love it. I am one of the people that pre ordered it to play it early and I love it. I dont even think that I am half way through the content and its been 2 days lol. I cant wait until I hit level 30 and try to make my build. Upgrading the settlements is so much fun and seeing the upgrade is even better... at least for me lol. Upgrading stuff and seeing it improve is my favorite thing in games. I have only ran into 1 glitch and it was a ladder glitch, I just had to restart my game and then take a different way down. The only thing I would change is the movement system, I am not a fan of the Ghost Recon Wildlands Movement feel. Division 1 has an AMAZING feel to it but Division 2 kinds of feels too loose and smooth if that makes any sense... but that honestly isnt a big deal once you get use to it.
The reviews are in...
I haven’t seen any reviews yet. If there were reviews they wouldn’t be very reliable this early. Most people haven’t scratched the surface of the endgame. So it’s too early to make a judgement. Having said that it certainly looks much more polished and complete than most games in this genre. But it still looks kind of boring to me.
