  • Hence why I edited - but I still disagree with this post. Pinnacle weapons should be pinnacle for a reason - so many people feel entitled to content. And if you read, he said the only reason NF should stay at 5.5K is because there isn’t a new 5.5K weapon. The grind for NF was soul destroying, I’ll be seriously pissed if they start handing it out. I really feel for the Claymore boiz tbh.

    Why feel bad for the claymore boiz? The broadsword was arguably more of a grind for a shit weapon. The same people who got claymore have probably gotten every other crucible weapon since then. In some ways I agree with OPs statement, in some ways I agree with what you just said. I don’t believe that pinnacle weapons should have their requirements dropped. But I do think that players should be completely unable to join matches below their rank, regardless of who you have on your team, and that comp rank should not reset with the season.. Lunas/nf are without a doubt, over 2 seasons after their release, still the single strongest pvp weapons in the meta. It’s ridiculous that those people can enter a match with people who have not gotten to the rank required to get it. By all means there should be a mechanic to reset rank progress on the gun after each season, but not reset overall rank, so that guys who’ve never gotten a pinnacle weapon are in the same rank and playing against the people who have all of them. It’s the definition of uncompetitive in a playlist called competitive. Same could be said about every aspect of the playlist really

  • It’s more the fact that Broadsword was a clone of Claymore and had literally no skill requirement so was easily obtainable by 100% of crucible players, albeit probably more time consuming for some. The Claymore grind was the hardest comp grind in destiny history, so it must have felt like a slap in the face. The problem isn’t the requirements in comp matchmaking, it’s the matchmaking itself. I do think some people need to just accept that some rewards are just not feasible, such as 0.5KD players screaming because they can’t get the Not Forgotten. And most of the people calling for nerfs need to accept that most people using NF are already highly skilled players, hate the player not the gun.

  • “Hard” is entirely subjective. Some people got NF easily, others struggled their asses off for Luna. With how strong pinnacle weapons are I think they should become available to more and more people as time goes on. Maybe with a way to delineate between players who got it by reaching the rank requirement and those who got it at a lower rank, I’m fine with more people getting Luna’s, or mountaintop. Especially if it increases comp participation. If we don’t do something like this comp will die,

  • Then you need to stop calling them pinnacle weapons if you’re going down that route. Pinnacle means you have reached the top of that respective bracket. If you’re not a pinnacle pvp player, you have no right to a pinnacle reward. Nobody demanded the Halo 3 50 rank which I put on par with 5.5K, yet on this game people demand the reward that comes with it. So much entitlement. But you’re always going to have this problem - people without NF demanding an easier grind, people with NF demanding it stays the way it is.

  • I want NF to stay where it is unless a new 5500 pinnacle releases. I don’t mind Luna’s getting dropped to the masses, I’ve had that for two seasons. The 5500 rewards I’m conflicted about, part of me says AT MOST let it slide down to fabled after two seasons if a replacement 5500 reward is released... The rest of me says leave it. Having rewards at each rank tier would increase the player pool dramatically, which is good for everyone, but the good players would have the pinnacle weapons like two seasons before the majority.

  • I made a fairly lengthy edit to my previous post before I read this one, apologies. I agree that if someday is destroying me with not forgotten, they’ll probably be destroying me with Ten Paces as well. But you don’t come across many Not Forgottens. Lunas on the other hand, not so much. There’s nothing really skill based about it. If you have a fireteam, play long enough and you’ll get it. For solo players though, not so much. I’ve gotten to within 200 points each season, and either ran out of time, or for a multitude of reasons, ended up having losses snowball on me. Now, I’m not asking to make things easier for me, the solo player, to obtain it. I’m not asking for a solo playlist, I’m not asking for changes to the win/loss point values, I’m not even asking for strictly skill based matchmaking. I win against 4 stacks with a bunch of blueberries almost as much as I lose against them, it’s fine. It’s a team based gamemode, it’s to be expected. I’m just asking to not have to go against a 3 lunas or nfs on a 4 stacks just because the guy at a lower rank initiated matchmaking. If that’s the case, what really is the point of having ranks in the first, if having to play others in your rank is so easily bypassed. Not to mention it gives those players a hell of a headstart to the next pinnacle at the start of each season. Like I said in my previous edit, it’s the antithesis of competitive in a playlist called competitive
