I need phone help

So I really need a new phone and being that this is one tech I've never kept up with I don't know what's good, OK, and not so good. So any opinions or thoughts or even recommendations you offtopickles have would be greatly appreciated.
No more than 250$ USD please
I still really like my iPhone, but I know they're not for everyone. For Android, I'd highly recommend the Google Pixel phones. They're stock Android and don't come with a lot of bloat like other phones like the Galaxy, HTC One, Moto, etc. I've heard the latest batch of Galaxy phones are a ton better software wise though. I had the S8, and it slowed to a crawl after two years, so I ended up switching back to Apple. Best of luck!

    • For $250, Apple anything is out of the question. I'd probably say a Galaxy S8 is around $250, I'd say go for the S8 Active for the built in case.

      • Go with one of the discount Samsung phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. They’re not as good as, like, the S8 or whatever, but they’re much cheaper. $80-$120 back when I worked with phones. Also bear in mind a locked phone will be cheaper, but is stuck on a certain service (like T-Mobile).

        • Go for Samsung, not apple. I've had a Samsung phone for 8 years, but my iPhone 5 died because it couldn't keep a charge.
