And thanks to the public shame policy, I can't publicly name the trolls that have nothing better to do than ruin people's fun with the game.
How would naming them help? Forum moderators can't do anything about them. Report them in-game and move on...

  • Reporting does nothing even with video proofs.

  • Honestly, I don't even know what you'd be hoping it would do. You expecting them to get a ban for running into you with an interceptor? And how do you know nothing is being done? They're not going to email you with the findings following your report. Chances are that even if a reported player did get a ban, you'd never know.

Reports IN GENERAL doesn't work, this case is just stupid, but in general the report system doesn't work

  • Again. How do you know? They don't follow up with you any action taken.

  • Troll account, but I'll bite. Not trying to be disrespectful to Bungie, but if they'd pay a little more attention to the forums, nonsense like this wouldn't be occurring. And people who have nothing better to do can be dealt with. Oh, and I did report them. I did move on to another instance. Reporting does nothing

Seriously, where do you think you are? There's nobody here who can help you with this... These are unpaid forum moderators who have nothing to do with the game world. Are you expecting them to bring it to the dev's attention? Yea, sure "Hey, Luke? People are being dicks on the internet again"... Now what? They're not going to issue a ban over word of mouth via the forums. Literally the only thing you can do is report them in game. You've done that? Good on you, you've literally done everything within your power. But you still need to carry out Step 2 - Move on. Now, back to my question. What would naming and shaming them accomplish? There's nobody here with the power to do anything, they're not going to bring petty griefing to the attention of the devs, and if they did, the devs won't be going out of their way to issue a warning to a player for being a troll. Sure, interceptors are capable of friendly fire, address that issue, the issue unrelated to the player on the other end and aim to have that issue addressed. But again, in getting that addressed, how would naming the player help? Yea, I'm being a troll. You know what's even more troll-ey than me? Naming and shaming players publicly for 'ruining your fun in a video game'...

  • Well first off, if our community managers who are supposed to be paying attention to our forum posts are unpaid, then I think I'd be finding a different job if I were them lmao. Secondly, name shaming, if done properly, does a few things actually. Why not set specific guidelines? 1.)If done properly with proof, It adds one more asshole to everyone's list of people to avoid like they deserve. If you can provide substantial proof of wrongdoing, then quite frankly, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to. I don't know many people who willingly subject themselves to undesirable treatment. Would you? If you can't provide substantial evidence, then you get punished for starting a witch hunt. You wouldn't walk into a courtroom throwing blind accusations would you? 2.) It allows Bungie to see the issue in action. If it's an exploit, bug, or glitch, then it needs to be fixed. Showing them the player commiting the griefing by taking advantage of the programming issue is one way to confirm it exists. Then the community becomes fully aware of it. Then they demand a fix. Then the dev team works on a fix. 3.) And if name shaming is equivalent to trolling to you, then I guess people who love trolling should grow a pair and face the consequence of their actions. Don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk. I guess it's only fitting I get lectured on trolling from someone who can't use their real account to defend griefing. You prove my points.
Well first off, if our community managers who are supposed to be paying attention to our forum posts are unpaid, then I think I'd be finding a different job if I were them lmao.
It's not the community managers job to be solving petty squabbles between you and someone on an interceptor who humiliated you.
Secondly, name shaming, if done properly, does a few things actually. Why not set specific guidelines?
1) Unfortunately, that's exactly what happens, more often than not, the naming and shaming going on in the forums are by bitter people, who someone offended by doing nothing that is even reportable. For example, you, right now, who would name someone for driving an interceptor. Being a nuisance isn't a reportable offense... 2) No, it doesn't. Have you not read my posts? Bungie doesn't see anything happening in the game through the forums. You know what would though? Reporting them in game. 3) What is this even supposed to mean? If you were at all confident that naming them would solve anything, you would have done it by now, but you haven't because you know that it won't accomplish anything. It's people like you why I don't use my real account, because then I cop abuse on my PSN because someone doesn't like hearing the truth.
You prove my points.
lol. How?
