Some ninjas did their jobs. As a former ninja (not in this forum), I know that they need to manage misbehavior. And spamming the forums qualifies.

 • Maybe I've missed something, but this one actually offers feedback compared to most. Theres a big difference between an empty spam post and one that offers someone's thoughts and ideas for improvement!

 • Very possible. Arguably, our good ninjas should have winnowed the posts, keeping the ones making intelligent arguments while deleting the spam. But there were a lot of posts, so they might have just gone scorched earth.

The title was “Top four posts are for removal of cores” The body said basically the same thing. If they aren’t going to remove cores at least make a constructive way to get them. Problem was everyone started posting and the main page became 40 posts about cores two days after!

I would hardly call it mischievous or misbehaving. I made the post when the top four trending posts were about cores. After two days it went up to 40 posts on the main pages been about cores. I never posted again after and totaled one actual post..... It really goes to show how many people hate the current system though.

 • Me included. Don't get me wrong. I find Bungie's paternalistic "we're keeping the cores because we know what's best for you" attitude quite irritating. I'm just upset with the community for overreacting: you don't clog up the forums with crap just because of an essentially minor matter.

 • Truth is - now cores are used to upgrade everything. So it’s not really a minor matter. It’s an integral part of the game and build mechanics. You grind to get to the new light level but leave half the gear, items and weapons behind having no resources to upgrade those also. It was never just a case of renaming something, it was a system that was never meant for that purpose and is blatantly shown in the quantity of those materials.

 • I agree with you. I will shed no tears if and when cores are eliminated as infusion requirements. I simply don't feel that this issue was in the same league as the blatant Dawning cash grab. I approved of that, and even participated. This, I feel, doesn't justify besieging the forums.

Because eververse suffered from the back lash of other games with far worse systems in place at the time. Spending money on micro transactions through eververse wasn’t really an essential part of the game. It was largely cosmetic items. People went full on after the whole EA / battlefront micro transactions stuff and it ended up carrying over into destiny and any other game that were milking micro transactions for all they are worth.

 • I don't agree. The cores issue was a misguided but sincere effort to encourage players to try new weapons instead of mindlessly pumping them into the guns they're used to. It was, at least, well-intentioned. The Dawning was an effort to get people to do more microtransactions.

 • How does it equate to trying new guns if there are a lack of materials in upgrading the new stuff or stuff you want to try? Iron banner saw me sticking to the same comfort guns and the stuff that was already upgraded. The smgs, side arms and majority of other stuff never got used due to low light levels and stayed as vault fillers. I have countless rolls that haven’t seen the light of day. Cosmetics vs an actual integral part of the game is the point I am making...... Eververse caught backlash from other games and bs systems from other companies / systems
