Knock-Off Cory Barlog Thinks Gambling's an Art Form

For those of you who understandably have no idea who this person is (Jaffe, not Sterling), he's the one responsible for running Twisted Metal into the ground in addition to working on the God of War series before it was good. Now that's out of the way, what's your opinion on this matter? Are you stupid like David Jaffe because you misunderstand the apparent differences between art and monetisation, or do you recognise the importance of regulating something ripe for misuse in the wrong hands?

Money does a damn good job of ruining art. You look at our music, our cinema, our architecture, even our goddamn video games and you see the same shit. Art is second to cash. The culture of small development teams that are driven by their passion for making games is now basically nonexistent. Halo was such a great franchise because of the artistic autonomy of the early Bungie. Devs used to care about their community. But now, one whiff of a penny and they’re busting out the strap-ons, ready to -blam!- their consumers in the ass. It’s not about making a game, it’s about making money, and devs and publishers will hide behind whatever bullshit excuse to keep those bumholes open.
