  • Bungie didn't advertise it as more. They said it would be small with no story and stuff. It was the forges and the content would be spread out over the course of the season so there wasn't as much of a drought.

  • While you're correct in what they said, it's still really dumb that they thought that stretching such a small amount of content over 3 months was going to work when it's a fraction of the size of forsaken, which was also fairly stretched at the end, but it worked. Less of a drought? Nope, same amount of down time as normal. The weeks between content don't make it any less of a drought than it would be with 2 months between content. Those weeks add up to the 2 month drought anyway, just spread out. The idea is sound and all but the execution is poor. The couple of weeks between forges is extremely boring, the light grind felt more forced than any before and wasn't satisfying to finish. Follow that up with some BS puzzle that nobody has been prepared for and you get the black armory expansion experience. Boredom followed by frustration and boredom at the same time as we wait for someone else to do the work we all wish we knew how to do ourselves and was fairly accessible to all rather than obviously geared towards streamers. End game content is designed for hardcore players. What Bungie have forgotten though is that there are a couple of different types of hardcore players. 1. Streamers. They are always first in and first out, they're willing and able to spend as much time as necessary to complete the content and rush for the "first completion". As such, it's also their job and are paid for it. 2. Dedicated players who complete all end game content (including raids) but aren't into the whole, "first in, first out" thing. 3. Dedicated players who complete most of the end game content but not always the raids. 4. Dedicated players who may be solo so they complete what they can, milestones etc. 5. More casual players who may not have as much time as others or just aren't as dedicated to the grind, they play for the story experience and/or PvP. The labs is definitely geared towards streamers and maybe some other hardcore players. However the vast majority of us have no idea what's going on and that's not entirely our fault. Sure we could look it up and all but shouldn't bungie have done something, anything, to explain just what was going to be expected of us in the coming weeks to give us all a fair chance to figure this out? For most of us it isn't about who does it first, we ALL just want to play the damn content we paid for. We're all sick of time gates and this just feels like another time gate as all most of us can do is wait yet again for someone else to figure out wtf is happening.
