I had a friend ask me for help leveling up a new character over the weekend. In his words, he was thinking about spending $60 bucks because he didn't want it to take 2 whole days to get to level 50. This is the world we live in now. I played Destiny I from the beta, and remember the satisfaction of getting an exotic that was totally reliant on RNG, the satisfaction of finally getting a character up to max level by finding that one piece of armor that was missing, the satisfaction of figuring out the secrets of the raids, but now everybody wants it NOW.

I agree that everyone wants it now, but it's bullshit that they put the link to a stream of someone figuring out a puzzle in their tweet, and treat it like it's a good way to bring in new players or make it a fun community event. The problem with exotic drop rates now is that they made it even worse than OG Destiny 1. The game drops exotics extremely rarely, and when it does drop it has a 90% chance of it being a duplicate exotic. I also find it bullshit that they artificially slowed levelling by locking the rate of powerful gear drops per character that you can get, and by making the wait between levels longer. Your friend is also justified because I don't want to play through the campaign again because of the chore that it is to play the game without a sparrow. Sure it's possible to get a sparrow in the game before completing the campaign by using another character that has already completed the campaign to get a sparrow and transfer it.
